A perfume by Giorgio Beverly Hills for women, released in 1999. The scent is floral-fruity. The production was apparently discontinued.

A Nice Surprise
I came across a tester of this today and decided to give it a try because I like Giorgio (the original). Since I was on my way out the shop, I sprayed it on a tester-strip and put in my coat pocket. When I finally came home and emptied my pocket...I smelled this wonderful smell. The tester-strip had 'blossomed' into a drydown in my coat and was scenting the air.

What a pretty perfume this is! Peony mingling with ginger, a soft orchid note is cooling down with a slice of lemon that was caught flirting with a pineapple - and this scene was watched by a sandalwood note that smiled!

I never thought this combination could work! But it does! Despite the fruits it's more floral than fruity with a very faint sandalwood base-note.
I must sample this on my skin and see if the note that worries me (the pineapple) won't turn sour. If I get the same result as on the tester-strip I have to add this one to my collection. YUM!

I will keep you posted! But in the meantime...go on and sample it. It might surprise you like it did me. : )

Inexpensive Fruity Floral
Peony, pineapple, melon and grapefruit are four examples of notes that I dislike when it comes to perfume. Seeing that all four of those notes I listed above feature in G's scent pyramid, one would assume that I would go running in the opposite direction. Surprisingly, G is not half bad.

You probably won't catch me wearing G in this lifetime, but you won't hear me dissing it either. For a fairly inexpensive fragrance, it's quite balanced and inoffensive. It's a great choice for anyone that loves fruity florals.

The grapefruit and melon opening is fairly subdued, watery almost, which for me is a relief. The pineapple note is candied, not nearly as acidic as I thought it would be.

The heart is a peachy floral. Peony and I don't usually get along, but in G it is tolerable. The floral touch is actually quite pleasant. I found the peony, peach and pineapple blend to last well into the drydown.

Seeing that I expected to vehemently dislike Giorgio Beverly Hill's G, it's nice to conclude my testing knowing full well that every fragrance is worth a chance. A cheap price tag is not always a bad thing.

The Magical Three Words
Hello G, many years ago, we were inseparable and you were my only bottle. You were a gift at a time when I never dreamed of spending my pocket money on a perfume. I liked you, and thanks to you, I heard the magical three words for the first time: "You smell good." That's how it all began, and my passion for everything that smells good took its course. Then you were used up and disappeared. You made way for many new discoveries on a journey through the world of fragrances that continues to this day. I remember that I searched for you some time ago and could no longer find you. Discontinued - what a shame. Only by chance and the diverse possibilities of online shopping today did I find you again. After so many years, you are back, and I could hardly wait for the first spray. G, you haven't changed - but I have. You still start sweet, become floral fresh, and remain pleasantly on the skin for a while until you simply fade away. I still like you. Please don't be mad at me for having broadened my fragrance horizon in the meantime, and I must tell you that there are now other scents that I find more beautiful. From now on, you will be part of my collection, and I will surely wear you again - in the summer on warm skin. You are the beginning of my love-for-fragrance story, and therefore my first comment. Yours, D

A bright aquatic ginger rose that "hyper-freshness"... or bright ginger hovers over the water lily pond.
This week I was at Rossmann and checked the perfume shelf for the green prices. Green means - being discontinued. Okay, it was already mentioned here that my beloved "Truth or Dare" by Madonna might be discontinued. Yes, the price was also green, 9.99 euros for 50 ml Oh dear!
Right below were stacked blue boxes, of which only the underside was visible. I asked for a test sprayer and the nice saleswoman sprayed it on the test strip. "G, Giorgio," she said in response to my inquiry. "I don't know it. Okay, 12.99 instead of 30, I'll take it." Some of you know this. I often act spontaneously like this when the price is low and I like the scent.
But how did it smell...

A very bright note hit my nose, rising deep into my head. It was very warm that day, really hot. In contrast, this scent was like a clear refreshing breeze, citrusy-aquatic, aquatic-floral, bright, like a light, fresh summer breeze.
Fortunately, I didn't smell any prominent melon, otherwise I wouldn't have taken the scent, but rather a lovely, slightly sharp light floral note.
I have smelled a similar note in the overall composition in L'Artisan "Haute Voltige," but here the animalistic aspect is completely absent. This scent is fresh-floral, clean. It definitely belongs on the list of clean scents and leaves on me a fresh and very bright, almost radiant sillage.
It is only slightly fruity, but not sweet at all. I don't smell pineapple. I wouldn't have expected it in the scent, nor sandalwood or peach. None of that is present in my fragrance.
The scent is rather cool, neutral, and has a distinctly light green note in the scent trail, like fresh leaf stems.
Since I can't break down all these aquatic notes into individual components, it should just be said that it is certainly, and fortunately, not an aquatic melon that I smell, but rather something like pink rose or water lily. I could immediately name several other aquatic rose fragrances, but we shouldn't make too many references to other scents in the comments.
This scent is therefore more of a peony fragrance, with a slightly fruity accompaniment. It becomes interesting through a bright sharpness, presumably from the ginger and the base with vetiver, which for me here smells green, fresh, clean, and like fresh linen. This sharp ginger nuance hovers lightly and spicily over the scent all the time.
It is ideal to wear in summer as well as in spring. It refreshes wonderfully in the heat, which is why it was allowed to come with me right away. The radiant brightness clears my head and resets me.
90 ml can be sprayed generously, but I have to do that too. The scent lasts about 4-5 hours, becoming closer to the skin after two hours. There is no significant scent progression for me.
One shouldn't kid oneself, but of course, these types of scents don't smell natural. I know nothing in nature that smells this bright and fresh. It does have a deliberately artificial fabric softener or laundry detergent freshness, but for me, it's still within limits and clearly intentional.

I don't watch commercials anymore. Is there actually already a fabric softener "Hyper Fresh"?

G by Giorgio Beverly Hills
This fragrance was my first one that I chose as a little girl.

Back then, as a young teenager, I was drawn to that cheeky, feminine advertisement on TV. I knew even less about fragrances than I do today, but I wanted to look just like the pretty lady in the lilac ball gown in the ad - thinks the naive, little teenage heart :).

So during a vacation with my parents in Mallorca, I searched for exactly this bottle during my first visit to a perfume shop and was even allowed to get it - at that moment, my father's illusion that I wouldn't become as (fragrance- and fashion-obsessed) as my mother was probably shattered. I sniffed it - and I was immediately convinced.

I am probably still dazzled by the fact that I wanted it so badly as a girl and was instantly excited about it, but since then, a new bottle has found its way into my fridge time and again.

Upon the first spray, it has a slightly synthetic note for a few seconds, then it becomes very floral, which I associate with orchids (at least I think so, I don't own any flowers or plants and don't like them either). And what is special about this fragrance for me is that it is the most floral one in my collection and I still like it so much.
It develops a "melon-like" quality without losing that floral aspect, giving the wearer the feeling of being a "full woman" ;).

I still find the balance between the floral and fruity accords on a soft sandalwood base very successful, and I will probably continue to repurchase it for years to come.

I find it sad that it has lost some of its exclusivity due to the low prices in drugstores, in my opinion.

Had to get this one because it was listed as a scent twin to My Melody. Unfortunately no, not at all. Peach & melon with hairspray. Can pass.

Synthetic "flowers" of all kinds. Unidentifiable to me. Also a bit overwhelming. Horrible. And absolutely avoidable.
