Like a big, warm sweater on a cold day...
This is a catapult back to the 1980s, when your fragrance became part of the language you spoke. It was your physical accent that conveyed your attitude. Giorgio Bevery Hills at this time expressed style, status and youth. This is the cool weather interpretation of the original sunny GBH classic that adds cardamon to the top notes, warming things up considerably. Basically, the floral heart notes are all the same, which IMHO are one of the best florals in a men's composition. I wore it with a fresh black t-shirt and jeans with a Giorgio watch.
The biggest difference is the honey that gets replaced by a rich black leather note that changes everything. The patchouli that always seemed to dominate the original, blends well with the leather. I get a better interpretation of the crisp vetiver and heady oakmoss. The vanilla morphs into Shalimar territory. It's still sweet, yet more soapy this time around. It is perfect for snowy winter nights.
Its big, bold and comfortable. The packaging seemed intimidating yet enticing. I felt I was not entitled to a bottle yet bought one regardless. The VIP label kept (scared) it away from a larger market. It had a bigger price tag than its competitors. It was barely on the market and after Red for Men arrived, I never seen it again on retail shelves. It fell into a mythic status.
