Versatile freshness

This to me has a Lapidus Pour Homme feel to it with a nod to those early 1990's aquatics with a sweet synthetic feel. I don't get the low ratings on this one but I'm certainly no expert, however it's not a bad fragrance all around and it's extremely metallic when first applied. As a matter of fact do not spray to close to the nose as a headache will soon appear. Keep it down to a dull roar and the fragrance will behave much more nicely. A total departure from the house's other masculine offering, the nuclear sized Giorgio for men. That said, this fragrance has been discontinued for quite some time but has a cool looking bottle going for it
The scent itself is highly synthetic and it'll take some time for it to calm down but when it does freshness abounds. I generally would not go for this type of fragrance but I'm a huge fan of Giorgio and I blind bought this bad boy and I'm not dissatisfied as a result. Not for everyone though so keep that in mind. Longevity is moderate to decent BTW

I have wings!

Based on reviews and comparisons, I bought it blindly because it was safe for me for only 8$/50ml. I like (and had) Quorum (Q), I like Cool Water (CW) too, but this perfume was a better surprise for me. How can something so cheap smell so good? It's fresh, cool, but having also a warm component gave by amber. Only the lavender opening is similar to CW and Q. The drydown seems to me better than Q and CW. Not so beast on my skin, but even Bogart OMS Gold Edition was kneeled down. Long lasting on clothes.
PS: still I can get why the scent note here is so low. It's a nice smell.

Nowadays, everything related to fresh perfumes, involves aromas; fresh, ethereal, translucent and with little body, sometimes they are durable but the projection is scarce, the minimal is taken away, and anything that comes out of these canons is something extraordinary and exclusive, because this Wings is like an elephant in a china shop, He does not go unnoticed, worthy son of his time.

Wings is a very clean aroma, a warm, woody and floral white lavender, with a pristine musk, ultra clear and scandalous, as neon lights, but of a beauty that is no longer seen, and that was a letter of introduction in the 90's. A cool vintage radioactive that I love. I feel it as a mixture of Alfred Dunhill's Desire and Nikos's Sculpture with a touch of Davidoff's Cool Water and a tinge of enriched plutonium, which makes it a scandalous and jovial chill, with a pinpoint of maturity.

Performance is very good, its duration is above average, with a very striking and noticeable wake in the first hour, then down to moderate, which is not bad either, for the ridiculous price it has.

It is a perfume for day use and warm and temperate climates. To me, personally, it is an aroma that makes me extremely pleasant for a cool summer afternoon-night, a little crowded fragrance, that will not make you go unnoticed.

As for its recommendation, I recommend it without hesitation, but for people who enjoy aromas of Nikos Sculpture or Mystique Homme by Al Haramain, if you do not like this style, do not get close, you could suffer irreversible damage.

This one was a milestone in my personal development as a man. Buying it was an experience - Harrods on my first visit to London and (for me) insanely expensive. The bottle looked vaguely similar at the time, but the implied silhouette of a perched eagle was much more detailed and high quality. And its fragrance promised everything I had decided for my new, adolescent self: cosmopolitanism, coolness and smooth masculinity. And those are the best things in which you think you will finally find your true, future self.

He smelled different back then, for sure! Anyone who remembers Heaven by Chopard may get an idea of the DNA of the old, first Wings, which was also called 'Wings for Men Giorgio Beverly Hills' back then - the 'Giorgio Beverly Hills' has since shamefully disappeared from the packaging and bottle. It had a ravishing, melting freshness that would certainly be considered ridiculous today, but back then it was the sensual ambassador of an olfactory awakening that added a marine sweetness to the style-defining aquatics of the early 90s that was exciting and new.

At the time, I was certain that I had found the signature of my future self in Wings - and accordingly, after using up the 50 ml from London, I didn't doubt for a long time that there would - of course! - there would be a new bottle. I didn't know at the time that perfumes are also products with an often limited lifespan (and closely linked to sales figures). And when I looked for it a few years later - other (fragrance and other) loves had come and gone since then - the spot on the shelf where it had been was empty.

Decades later, I came across it (or rather its bastard) again - quite unexpectedly in the USA on a bargain table for barely more than ten dollars. There's no need to talk about the fragrance they now sell as Wings, it's not even a shadow of its former self. I definitely can't recommend testing or even buying this new one - and yet I still sometimes nostalgically mourn the old one (or the one I was back then?). Just this much: of my 6.0 rating, 2.0 are for its old version, and 2.0 for the memory. At least.
