Rather floral
For me, the cherry blossom is absolutely the focal point here. From the very beginning, the floral note is particularly pronounced and is surrounded by a light tea. I wouldn't describe the scent as particularly green..
It smells bright and clear. A freshness that is more reminiscent of the scent of fresh, crisp flower petals enveloped in morning dew rather than standing out through sprightliness.
I can't hardly smell the yuzu note. For me, the freshness is actually mainly noticeable in the dry down, where floral notes often have a powdery tendency, and that is less the case here.
All in all, great if you pay close attention, but also somewhat forgettably floral.

Associations with Japanese Culture
This is something different. Very interesting.

First, a lot of Genmai tea. A very unique scent that can perhaps best be compared to hay. The special feature of Genmai tea is the roasted rice grains that are added to the tea.
It then becomes lighter and the green tea emerges. While the wisteria wraps everything like silk.
Suddenly, the wind carries the scent of heather towards me, and shortly after, you can already see the lavender heather in the distance.
The path there is adorned with cherry blossom trees that are lined up like an avenue. Cherry blossom petals fall from the trees and waft their delicate scent towards you.

Fruity Green Tea, Served Lukewarm
“Ukiyo-E” contains some ingredients that are unfamiliar to me. However, I first tested the scent blind (as I usually do) to get some unbiased impressions, and they said in the first hour:
Green snow!
In the opening, I smell a long-lasting pleasantly calm, but very fresh and cool green, under which I suspect aldehydes, as the scent environment gives me a temperature like the fine, transparent coolness that rises from snow when you sniff it.

As it develops, the scent gradually becomes warmer, but extremely hesitantly.
The snow melts away, and cool, crushed grass and intensely fragrant, still cool earth come to the fore. Only then does a tired late winter sun slowly rise and warm the green, fine grasses and little plants until they release their aromatic scent. Delicate, extremely delicate green, minimally bitter, and with that moist, steaming spring earth in the weak sun.

After about 2 hours, the scent has warmed up enough that I smell snowdrops in green tea. A bit bitter, a mix of dark green plant and mild green, then also a bit sweet-fruity, overall, however, lukewarm and rather weakly aromatic.
Towards the end of the drydown, a very quiet, sweet floral note joins in, which I assume is cherry blossoms, even though I don't recognize it.

When I now compare my impressions with the fragrance pyramid, I hardly recognize anything.
I don’t know what viburnum smells like. I had to Google genmaicha and now know that it is a special Japanese preparation of green tea, namely a blend of sencha and roasted brown rice.

I can make little sense of the listed notes. For me, the scent is a cup of weakly brewed green tea with a bit of fruity yuzu and some bitter yuzu peel.
I find it positive that this tea scent does not come across as scratchy, but rather very mild, even towards the end with slightly powdery-floral accompanying notes that remind me more of jasmine tea than cherry blossoms. At that point, the scent is simply cozy, slightly sweet, mild green, and warm.
Not unpleasant, but for my taste, a bit bland and “lukewarm.”

Green Tea Band-Aid on Cherry Blossoms
The brand GriGri was completely unknown to me until the test package from FranFan arrived. More than the fact that the fragrances are supposed to be for tattooed skin, I still don't know much about the brand. Why different scents are needed for tattooed skin is questionable, but nowadays every new fragrance label seems to require a profound concept. The market is simply flooded with scents.
As mentioned by my predecessor, the name comes from Japanese, and the ingredients of the fragrance are mostly of Japanese origin, at least according to the pyramid. So how does it smell?

The scent starts off zesty-fresh; I can definitely smell Yuzu. But that's not all. Right from the beginning, there’s a strange “Band-Aid” note that I can't quite place. Slowly, slowly, the green tea fights its way through and gradually pushes this note aside. However, it’s already been drunk, and only the wet leaves from the infusion remain in the sieve. But this is not unpleasant. It has much more aroma than the brewed drink. This note becomes stronger, and over time I feel that only the relatively intense now-dry green tea is left, underlaid by a bergamot or yuzu-like freshness. That’s not bad, but I keep asking myself whether I want to smell so authentically like tea.
To my delight, the blossoms eventually join in. I perceive the cherry blossoms beneath the tea, but the tea remains dominant until the end. This end is quite prolonged; the scent remains detectable on the skin for a long time, but it’s not overly dominant.

Excellent genmaicha and yuzu opening that dries down to a pastel floral-woody base.

Beautiful roasted aromas that unfortunately fade very quickly. Then airy cherry blossoms, creamy and slightly fruity. A transparent scent...

A look into the tea tin reveals roasted nuts over almost dusty tea, overshadowed by a dose of hairspray. Further down, dried flowers.

Moldy-earthy notes blend with green, almost fresh scents and roasted aromas. A composition of quirky, awkward elegance. Challenging!

First tea with roasted notes, then green tea with a bitter floral hint, then a creamy floral scent. Nice, but not innovative.

Green tea, semolina pudding, yeast, yuzu, and later on, woods.
A bit bitter, muted, creamy, herbal, and slightly sweaty.
Interesting scent!

You have to get through the bright, dull floral opening. In return, you get more tea than in many of its note competitors.

Green tea, flavored with yuzu and sweet cherry blossoms. For my taste, too lukewarm, too mild, not enough aroma. Positive: Not scratchy.

Intense, creamy-floral, it swirls around cold Genmaicha tea. Quickly subtle, it loses its uniqueness - a hint of bitterness remains.

Neither Genmaicha nor green tea but green. But lightly floral, metallic, sandalwood creamy, yeast + a bit sweaty like cumin. Not for me.
