The Incomprehensible End of a Masterpiece
Gucci pour Homme II Eau de Toilette is undoubtedly one of those perfumes that can be called a timeless classic and definitely belongs to a "golden era." Fragrances like "Envy for Men (Eau de Toilette) | Gucci," "By Man | Dolce & Gabbana," "What About Adam (Eau de Toilette) | Joop!," or Antidote Eau de Toilette are perfumes that I will never understand why they were discontinued.
I simply cannot imagine that it was due to poor sales, and the fragrance compositions themselves should still find great appeal today and are in no way outdated... But what's the point of nostalgic lamenting? I think we've all learned by now that it doesn't help :(
Gucci pour Homme II Eau de Toilette is unfortunately the last great creation from Gucci for men's fragrances, in my opinion...
This scent is also one that has accompanied me the longest and would definitely be repurchased regularly if it were still in production.
After Dior Homme Intense (2011) (definitely the old version), I would probably consider this my second signature scent. The unusual combo of violet leaf, black tea, pimento, cinnamon, tobacco, and white musk creates a fantastic warm spiciness, which always carries a certain lightness.
For me, it is actually almost always wearable and nearly impossible to overapply, unless one really tries to ;)
The fact that the longevity is unfortunately a small drawback has already been mentioned here several times... but for me, it still falls within an acceptable range.
As I said, I will sadly never understand why such masterpieces are discontinued only to throw some meaningless stuff on the market that is already available in one form or another... I have unfortunately not found a truly acceptable replacement so far.
The Sculpture Homme God's Night is okay, but in my opinion, it doesn't come close to "Gucci pour Homme II (Eau de Toilette) | Gucci."
For me, definitely an unjustly discontinued masterpiece...
