Habit Rouge was way ahead of its time, now it is lagging somewhat unhappily behind. In the Guerlain gondola, if there is one in the store at all, the actual pioneer is pretty far down the list. Many flankers with water in their name or the offshoot Dress Codes by Monsieur Wasser were not even unsuccessful. The original fragrance, despite adaptations, never got off the ground. It will probably soon be completely reformulated so that it can remain. So the idea of a perfume version is not such a bad one.
At first you don't know which is the perfume and which is the original, what's the difference in consistency here? After that, the perfume goes its own way by holding on to the bergamot and not letting go, not the whole way through. This citrusy impact is surrounded by leather, not very strong and remains very perceptible on the skin for over 10 hours. Sometimes it flashes up and you can feel it clearly, which is a pleasure. Finally a release that lives up to its name and durability. Many perfumes are only of higher quality in terms of price and packaging.
This change to the more contemporary citrusy feel worked well, Delphine Jelk has already created the LHomme Idéal fragrance, which is certainly one of Guerlain's best at the moment.
A must for Habit Rouge idealists, for others the weaker Habit Rouge is a good start.
