I, too, have shamefully ignored the brand, the range, and especially this fragrance, just like Leimbacher. Years ago, I smelled it on my brother and it reminded me of Kouros Light. One of the few scents that made me gag. Now, I received a sample of the so-called vintage version from dear Kiengira; unfortunately, I don't know the 2014 version for direct comparison yet. The EdC truly brings everything, but also everything that I so greatly appreciate in so-called fresh-clean scents. Coolness, freshness, a slight sweetness, a bit of soapiness, a hint of floral notes. All of this is present in the EdC and makes me drool and Google (sources) glow. The EdC is a mix of flowers and herbs that I can't really distinguish from one another. Only the lily of the valley stands out distinctly, similar to Aqua Universalis/Universalis Forte by MFK. Here, I like it much better. For the most part, the scent reminds me of Prada's Infusion d'homme, even though no star anise is listed here. This unique and distinctive freshness and coolness really excite me, especially with the current temperatures. You smell incredibly clean... yes, you really smell... pure! The EdC has such a carefree lightness without being banal or fleeting... it gives you the feeling of just having showered after a long workday... everything is washed away... then the EdC settles on the skin like a body lotion. The EdC comes closest to my ideal of a fresh-clean scent so far. Because it also scores points with me in terms of longevity, 4-5 hours are definitely achievable with moderate sillage. In such a fragrance category, I don't mind reapplying during my lunch break at all... rather, that's when the fragrance experience begins anew.
Conclusion: An incredibly wonderful scent that will delight all fans of White, Molecule, Infusion d'homme, and many more, and will find great popularity. To my knowledge, Helmut Lang is from Austria... Aunt Lilly, don't you have any connections there;-)???! Here, it's unfortunately so hard to find:-( I'm looking forward to the 2014 version and also to the EdP!
