Classically classy
This feels very "Houbigant"-y to me in its application of good taste and careful perfumery to a familiar concept. It's not novel to pair saffron paired with notes like tobacco and leather (Tabac Nomade features both), but the way the saffron is articulated here is unusual. It's the star of the show, a dry, dusty layer coating the rest of the scent.
There's a sweetness here coming from the combination of fruity rose and tonka/vanilla notes, but this isn't drowning in sugar. As far as I can tell, the "tobacco" comes from the dry facets of the tonka. The leather note is alluringly soft and suede-like, gently cradling the rest of the composition.
