Solo
The white tulle gently caressed her legs. Rouge lay scattered on her makeup table, trying until recently to add some color to her pale face. Her red lips were now smudged, and the edges of her mouth were no longer clearly defined. She looked into the mirror with tired eyes, her costume still clinging to her body just as it had in the years before, roses lingered, as so often, on her table. The lush scent of these enveloped her and mingled with the sweat that lay in the mask. Her dance was over, her solo finished. Her silk dress shimmered in the dim light, and she knew that despite the exhaustion that lay in her bones, the night was just beginning. She dripped a few drops of the dark elixir onto her neck, which was meant to give her new strength. One last glance before she disappeared into the darkness.

Pearl starts surprisingly fresh and herbal for me, the rose appears untamed and comes prominently to the forefront. Over time, it takes up more and more space for itself, becoming heavier, silkier, and more opulent. The viburnum contributes to this benevolent, almost narcotic heaviness and allows the scent to become expansive. The musk, which joins after a while, gives the whole a certain animalic quality that is nonetheless not at all intrusive. Over time, patchouli noticeably comes through, but it still snuggles up to the rose and only acts in the background, balsamically sweetening this fragrance composition.
Despite the few fragrance components, or perhaps because of them, this scent feels incredibly cozy and rich. It envelops the senses and makes the wearer appear mysteriously attractive, evoking in me mixed associations of well-groomed scene clubs, peaceful goths, and old theaters.
The longevity is impressive, with rose and patchouli lasting around 6 hours on my skin.
The sillage is noticeable, and at first, the scent takes its space, becoming more intimate over time and clinging to its wearer like a second skin.
Ikiryo has created a wonderful fragrance composition with Pearl that is very wearable and could be particularly interesting for lovers of rose scents. Of course, the combination of rose and patchouli is nothing new, but here it is harmoniously implemented with musk and viburnum, creating a lush scent that can certainly be provocative but doesn’t have to be.
