Dune Treasure

The sunflower was ashamed to acknowledge the nameless flower as her kinswoman.
Then the sun rose, smiled kindly at the despised one, and asked:
"How are you, my darling?"
(Rabindranath Tagore)

Often the smallest, most inconspicuous flowers have the strongest fragrance and the sweetest nectar.
Somehow they have to attract attention. Whereby Pyrola - also dune wintergreen (Pyrola rotundifolia subsp. maritima - in the flower sex rather on insects as mainly flies.
Its appearance is similar to that of the lily of the valley.

Pyrola has an idiosyncratic scent, citrusy-sweet and green-spicy, with a sweet soft heart and a soapy veil. The scent reminds me somewhat of the herbal lemonade Almdudler.
The sillage is decent, but noticeable. Whereby the fragrance is much better outside in the fresh air and in cooler weather.
In any case, unisex and quite portable.

My thanks for the generous sample goes to Baeumchen :)
