January Scent Project / Burvuvu
The creator is the American niche perfumer John Biebel. I think many fans who like Slumberhouse and Pineward will like the fragrance.
Burvuvu is a fragrance in honor of the cedar tree and its many varieties, including Western red cedar. In the depths of this fragrance, we have, among others, Moroccan rose, mushrooms (great shot here), lots of greens (including patchouli, geranium), spices, as well as castoreum and musk (less noticeable) with a light hint of honey. Oh .... such a miracle and a unique fragrance and for a really good price.
Perfume more for fall, winter or early spring. Projection and durability at a good level.

I highly recommend this vision of an autumn walk through an old forest full of cedar trees and between its flora and fauna. Really great perfume.

Ingredients: notes of geranium, white Canadian cedar, red cedar, Texas cedar, Moroccan rose, patchouli, ginger, amber, tonkin musk, mushrooms, henna, basil, honey and castoreum.

A research on cedar wood
A cedar forest where bushes, shrubs and remains of trunks colonized by fungi and microorganisms tangle at the foot of the trees: this is the first image that comes to my mind as soon as I spray the perfume. But in a short time the woody and penetrating aroma of the woods and unusual elements such as henna, is mitigated and then adorned with floral and green facets, even slightly anisic (notes of geranium, rose, basil). Now the image changes and I find myself on the American east coast, in the room of a boarding house on the road, where the doors of an old wooden wardrobe creaking open to reveal clothes that are anything but decrepit, certainly impregnated with the wood that contains them, but also of an overwhelming and stimulating vital, vibrant and carnal scent (ginger, castoreum, musk Tonkin). In the finish the patchouli emerges, accompanying its aromatic earthiness with animal notes, honey, generous floral notes.
An example of American indie perfumery that I would recommend to approach for the research on woody notes in particular of cedar (this perfume comes from a long and almost obsessive research on various species of cedars by the author), linked to floral notes in a composition perfectly balanced in its whimsy.

A forest full of roses
Burvuvu is my favorite lately. It reminds me of Chypre Mousse in the sense that it is such a great and true forest fragrance. Burvuvu is very woody, damp, earthy, but it has much more of a floral thing going on than Chypre Mousse. The heart smells like huge quantities of soft roses mixed with honey water, and these roses are surrounded by pristine forest. Yet it's not "a rose perfume" in the way that Smolderose is. It's very much all about the forest. Big love for this fragrance and this brand, in general.

Typical indie american perfumery. Daring, bold and evocative. Damp shrpomy forest soil, pungent and elegant at the same time, imagine that.
