Herbal watercolour
Eiderantler is softness embodied, a watercolor of pale lavender and feathery green leaves. It reminds me very much of my mother's bathroom, which smells of a natural lavender-infused oil I bought for her on Hvar, an island off the coast of Croatia famous for its fields of lavender. The oil is old, so what meets the nose first is the fatty, waxy smell of the carrier oil itself, a little stale, but not rancid. Then the smell of lavender buds come through, the same crushed-between-your-fingers lavender smell as in Selperniku, but far gentler and balmier, as if the buds have been washed down in a sweet, milky lotion.

What I like about Eiderantler is its gentleness. The potential bitterness of the ivy and the lavender has been managed so that their natural, in-built pungency is softened and spaced out, diffused into your personal space by a humidifier.

green labyrinth
the lavender paired with pink pepper leads you a bit astray: for if you think you are coming to the open sea now, you are mistaken;
the path leads over bright moss cushions and under sun-speckled leaves into the darker depths of the forest.
here only a few sun rays penetrate through the blue-green pine needles. a brook rushes coolly and darkly murmuring by.
herbaceous leaf green, sun-dried wood, a fresh, cool wind....
then you lie down in the deep grass and feel protection and space.
when you wake up, after about 6 hours, the forest has become a bit musty.
but you will find your way back alone))))

Wolperdinger
John Biebel is a man with a sense of humor, as his neologisms show. He has already scored a big hit with me.
Eiderantler, the antlers with duck fluff (hence my association with Wolperdinger*) and Smolderose, the rose after the smoldering fire were still quite easy to decipher. For Selperniku, I’m guessing it’s the traditional Czech gingerbread, but with a salt crust.
* for those not from Bavaria: a mythical creature, mostly a hare with duck wings and antlers

I have just extensively tested the American Wolperdinger, and I hope the smoldering rose will be coming soon, as well as the Czech gingerbread (is it Christmas already?) - in all three cases, hats off to Dampfwoizn.

Eiderantler starts on my skin with something that makes me wrinkle my nose, though I can't specify what it is, a kind of fabric softener (lavender, oleander, jasmine - Vernel *tirili*?). But just after a little more than half an hour, a vivid image of another kind is awakened in me: I see a sunlit mixed forest, more broadleaf than coniferous trees, with hardly any underbrush, but many moss-covered large stones. A gentle breeze sweeps over the ground, swirling green-spicy notes with a hint of dry forest earth, and as it rises, it captures the delicate scent of tree bark and resin droplets.

The fact is: one (I) must give the fragrance time to develop; it is not a love-at-first-sight scent, nor is it a dive-into-new/foreign-worlds fragrance, but my goodness! it clings to my wrist and repeatedly leads me to deeply relax and sniff there, in its own way a soul-soother. It is difficult to compare with classic fougère fragrances, as it is unique and outstanding.

Aside from my purely personal deductions in the K-note, Eiderantler is, for me, a thoroughly successful fragrance that seamlessly fits into the North American indie perfumery art of recent years. It certainly does not have to hide behind the creations of Slumberhouse, HoM, Olympic Artisans, Zoologist (just to name a few). If it could start with the heart note, it would immediately be among my top fragrances!

Dear John Biebel, please keep it up - I am excited about all the new creations and will test each one with enthusiasm!

Lavender from the Deepest Forest?
Here, lavender has been combined with everything green - and I find the end result very successful!

In the opening: lavender is intense, but not that floral or cologne-like freshness often found in lavender perfumes. This is a whole different caliber! And coniferous notes are clearly recognizable here. Then suddenly the lavender is gone, replaced by mild resinous notes and indeed a very slight sweetness. This perfume is still green-fougere through and through. Moss, wood, conifer resin - everything a nature lover's heart desires! But also with lavender included (which, of course, you wouldn't find in the deep forest), albeit only in the opening on me.

I’m glad I participated in the sharing!

Tame compared to the other scents in the collection. A fougere with the addition of a dry hay note and slightly pine-y from fir cones.

Antler stands for antlers, and if we derive musk from that, we’ve hit the mark. Strong musk with a hint of powdery-bitter lavender.

Postmodern interpretation of the fougère theme: spicy-green, earthy, mild-resinous, lavender-like, woody: a being from the deep forest!

Resonant name, sounds like a pine cone extrait served with resin lavender liqueur on summer forest moss - and it smells just like that. Amazing!

Powdery lavender with damp hay forest floor, wet bark, and pine resin. In the end, a musk note creates a creamy animalic touch.

Starts cozy + lavender-soft, like delicate fluff on antlers. Becomes greener. The deer tromps over moss + meadows, through woods + hay.

Almost the rum pot of nature: a lot of greenery mixed with lavender and hay. Unusual, fresh, spicy, green, meadow-like, woody.
