Dark elegance without unnecessary heaviness
This fragrance has shown me that oud doesn't always have to be heavy and oriental. It starts with a beautiful bergamot, which immediately provides a sense of freshness. The cedarwood in the top note then gives the whole thing structure and prevents it from smelling like summer water. It's precisely the combination of tangy citrus fruit and dry wood that I find so brilliant in my other favorite fragrances. It has a refined and tidy effect.
In the middle, the eponymous oud comes to the fore. However, those who are afraid of the typically strong oud smell can rest assured. There is a smoky dark wood core, but it is not overwhelming and provides the necessary depth.
The base note is really interesting here because of the praline. I'm not usually a fan of sweet notes like this, but here it is very subtle. The dry wood simply becomes a little softer and rounder. Together with the orange, the fragrance remains lively until the end. A very dark, delicate sweetness that is barely noticeable but makes the fragrance smooth.
My conclusion: One of my favorite fragrances, balancing freshness and dark woodiness. An ideal fragrance for the evening and important appointments where you want to appear serious.
