Where Are We Going?
A promising start, a strange ending!
Sandalwood forward fragrances appeal to me. I love LV Lovers. Love it!
I “like” Santal 33. However, it smells like pickles to my nose. I bought BID because I did not get a dill pickle vibe.
BID is lighter and more powdery than Santal 33 initially, but it does not push off my skin the same. “This is nice,” I thought. I enjoyed it the first 2-3 hours. Then BID veered left. Though not a sharp turn, it kept traveling in a more earthy direction. After 3-4 hours, I smelled like trees being freshly cut. It was earthy and foresty at a level I could never have imagined at the start. It was a totally different scent. I went from dinner at a nice restaurant to camping in the woods.
If BID started like this, it would have been a scrubber. It reminded me of Autumn Vibes from Maison Margiela, which I found cloying after 30 minutes. Since it became earthy incrementally, my nose was not as offended as it was with Autumn Vibes. BID is not a hard dislike, but I am disappointed. I will wear it far less than I thought.
BID is unisex but leans masculine. Only buy it if you like wearing photorealistic earthy, woody, astringent fragrances.
