Ode to Dullness
I love the name, and wish I liked it more to actually get a bottle. But in regards to the fragrance, I get more powder than anything else. Despite it not being listed in the notes above, it smells very much akin to your mom's makeup compact. I wonder if it's the sandalwood/tonka I'm smelling because it reminds me of Oh La La from Teo Cabanel, which shares those same notes.
I'll admit—I had wished for more star anise. But I wouldn't mind the current scent so much if it weren't so *dry*. Instead of being cozy, it reads to me as dusty and a little stale. If they had added in a bit of cashmeran, I think I would've really enjoyed it. Maybe in that regard though, they nailed the name and the brief?
