Melancholy
The bottle already gives it away (statement refers to the 10 ml bottle, see perfume photo): The semicircle is looking for its complementary half. To feel whole, and perhaps it is not quite aware of it. In any case, there is a nagging feeling of lack. A lack of what?
Oh, there's a whole range of assumptions, depending on your personal situation: lack of beauty, lack of success, lack of self-esteem... of recognition... sympathy... of esteem... of belonging... of unconditional love... of self-love... This list could go on and on. We all know this. How are you supposed to feel whole as a person? Or even lovable? It's a crux. And it makes us long and search. Again and again - it has to be somewhere...
No, satisfaction doesn't come that easily. Does it even exist? Can we even find THE one person who gives us ALL that we are missing? The one and ONLY? And this is where a feeling of melancholy tends to creep in. A longing that has stopped searching becomes melancholy.
Perhaps we are better off following the Buddhist wisdom "The path is the goal"? - If the ideal partner does not really exist, not least because satisfying our needs would demand superhuman efforts from them. So if this goal doesn't really exist, then it makes sense to take a look at the journey there. You could also call this journey 'life'. Aren't we missing out on life if our focus remains stuck on the destination?
Buddhism also teaches us not to look for answers, but for the right questions that allow us to move on.
Rilke also expressed this universal knowledge beyond all cultures and belief systems: "And it is about living everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without realizing it, live into the answer one day in the distant future." -

'There is so much greatness in small things' - for me, this is especially true of the small bottles we all love so much, which can contain a whole world.
The entry into the world of Only EdT begins brightly fruity, freshly radiant, green and spicy. - Life is beautiful, let's dance the joy out of it! The infectious rhythm and catchy melodies stimulate trance-like spins and step sequences. But the dance is not over yet, as a dark note joins in. It is as if the purple contribution of the ripe plum is a cautious warning, and the exuberance gradually leaves the dance floor. The dancers become contemplative.
Sweaty from the lust for life and happily out of breath, it's time to take a break. The contemplation is kindly supported by mature florality, powerful and noble without slipping into sweetness. Individual players in this bouquet are barely discernible. Everything that is, is kept in limbo, in limbo. Similar to the questions we ask of life and into which we live instead of searching for answers in our heads.
And if we look very closely, we realize that the dot under the question marks, under each one, is a small twinkling star that shines to us from afar. And comforts. And gives us confidence.
And looking beyond our mental horizon, where the little stars want to guide us, requires a firm footing, a solid foundation that gives us reliable support. The base note has exactly what it takes. It is sustainably woody and formative resinous and remains stable for many hours. Velvety amber, lovely vetiver, cuddly vanilla and soft moss provide a homely feel-good factor.
This benevolent grounding keeps us in balance between the twinkling stars of a distant world and our imperfect world, our unfulfilled longings, our melancholy.
