Earthy, animalic chypre
I wouldn't really call this a spicy-floral, as described above - to me it's more an earthy-animalic-leather-chypre. I find it quite dark, and the spiciness is coriander, typical chypre-style. Lots of castoreum, one of my favourite animalic notes, and rather heavy on the oakmoss. Some patchouli, musk, leather... but not very floral, at least not on me.

A quality perfume, and I would recommend to try it if you enjoy the animalic-chypre genre. Still, it's probably not for everyone - I admit I find it a bit challenging to wear, it gives me an annoying feeling in my throat (many chypres do, and I got rid of several of them for that reason). But lovely to sniff from the bottle.

Reminds me of Castelbajac No 2 (eau de parfum), which I think I prefer - even if that too seems to affect my throat, and consequently does not get worn often either. A shame, but what can you do. Better focus on the ones that agree with you, there are enough to choose from...

Antique Fragrance Piece
At first, I thought this must be a scent similar to Obsession, a very dense, oriental-rich, opulently developed fragrance, but no, it is completely different.

A very harsh, dark-tinged scent greets me right from the start; only later do the notes of rose, jasmine, and carnation unfold, with just a hint of them detectable, although I am not entirely sure about the flowers. It could be something entirely different, but these three are usually found in vintage perfumes. No, indeed, the carnation is definitely present, as I can smell it until the very end.

However, this floral abundance does not last very long, as the harsh base notes of oakmoss, vetiver, and patchouli quickly join in, giving this fragrance the herbaceous-spicy character that I enjoy so much. I cannot detect any animalic notes here, but I think something must be present, although it is not very dominant. And if there was ever anything leather-related, it is now elusive, as I do not smell anything of that sort myself.

I owe having this mini to a lovely lady who had to part with many things from long-gone days. Thank you so much, dear Lisi, if you ever read this, you have made me very happy.

It is always a great joy to still be able to smell such, I might almost say, antique fragrance pieces, and I look forward to more experiences of this kind.

A Quite Spicy Chypre
Now I’m looking at the next vintage miniature from my collection. The Nitchevo Parfum de Toilette is quite solid overall, but it becomes a bit musty towards the end. The longevity on my skin is about 6 to 8 hours. I would rate the sillage as rather mediocre.

The top note initially has a citrus scent of bergamot. Then, spicy-oriental hints of cloves, nutmeg, and allspice come in. Aldehydes and coriander add some greenish nuances to the fragrance. The heart note smells floral with rose water, jasmine blossoms, lily of the valley, garden carnations, and daffodils. The base has a woody-earthy scent but also a bit musty like old furniture with a certain leatheriness. Patchouli and musk contribute a certain animalic quality.

While this is a quite spicy chypre, in the end, I’m not really happy with it, as the dry down is too moldy for my taste.

The first impression...
is misleading. I won the perfume as an extract on eBay. I really liked the bottle.
It arrived today. My first impression was: this smells quite old-fashioned. After all, it’s from 1973. A typical 70s/80s women's fragrance. Very sharp, aldehydic, with coriander being dominant.
Later, fortunately, it becomes softer, more feminine, and floral, and now, 90 minutes later, I find what I smell very pleasant. The spiciness remains, but thanks to the amber, patchouli, and musk, it’s pleasantly soft and almost cozy. I also think I perceive leather. A very complex scent.

Nice for colder days. But I will wait at least 30 minutes after applying the perfume before leaving the house.

Is it a shame that the scent was discontinued? Yes. A spicy-fresh, robust representative of the 70's. Nostalgia flash without Russian cliché kitsch.

Spicy-floral, but not heavy thanks to aldehydes. Beautiful and elegant, with the most pleasant clove I've ever smelled. I want it!

My bottle is ancient...yet this nostalgic scent is still captivating! Creamy, slightly spicy, lovely in autumn!
