Decadent Vanilla Perfect For Winter

Mad Potion is heavy on the boozy vanilla while at the same time wrapped in a clean musk. This is a familiar, comfort fragrance. It's quite pleasant, one I could see myself reaching for often. There is a powder presence, wrapped in clean, white, fresh musk, but really the star of Mad Potion is the strong, almost cloying vanilla. You must enjoy gourmands to wear this one, and I do. I almost sense a chocolate, but it's not listed in the notes, so I'll have to attribute that to the Bourbon Vanilla. Bourbon Vanilla brings a much richer tone to a perfume, and in this case, it works its wonders. Think decadent vanilla, rich, thick and almost overbearing the other notes. After 4 hours, Mad Potion was still hitting the strong mark in sillage and it's longevity is even longer. This should be perfect for crisp weather in the Fall, and definitely watching the snow. I've enjoyed every perfume from this line so far, no complaints.

Today, Rossi lured me into the store with a special offer for Mad Potion.
I like Purr, so I was interested.

I usually enjoy sweet fragrances, but what this scent reveals to me is a bit too much of the "good".

It’s like a bag of mixed candies - but of the synthetic kind.

In the past, such cheap "treats" would fly around during the carnival parade.
As kids, we eagerly caught them - it was all about "making a haul".

This childhood memory is the only nice thing for me about the scent.
Otherwise, I can only imagine it on teenagers.

Maybe it appeals to very young girls?

Caution!!! Vanilla Cavity!

Oh, my dentist would be thrilled and might even go order a Porsche... if I were to brush my teeth with Mad Potion. Because it is just sweet, sweet, SWEET!!! I personally enjoy sweet fragrances, even to the point of stickiness, but I prefer to wear them in winter so I’m not haunted by various insects in search of food. This one is like a vanilla cotton candy that clouds onto the skin and invites licking. However, I can well imagine that some men might not find this appealing at all, as it quickly slips into the category of children's perfume. If there had been a Hello Kitty on the bottle, I wouldn't have been surprised...
Mad Potion should actually be called Sweetest Potion. So please dose carefully. Otherwise, you might end up with cavities... ;) What is supposed to be crazy about this, unfortunately, eludes me.

Sweet, gentle, spherical, beautiful

I just finished this beautiful little treasure and decided to share my feelings about this fragrance with you. It was on my list because the scent description appealed to me strongly. A fragrance with three different types of vanilla throughout and a musk that appears in every part of the fragrance pyramid sounded simply too tempting. I received it from my boyfriend along with a couple of other treasures for Valentine's Day. When it first hit my nose, I internally flipped out; it amazed me so much. Externally, it was hardly possible, as it was already after 00:00 ;)
For me, this scent is hard to describe, but I will try :) it is sweet!!! it is even very sweet, but not in a typical vanilla cupcake or pink sugar way, rather in a playful, squeaky sugary fruity manner, but without being sticky and intrusive. That’s quite an achievement!!! The comments here tend to suggest the opposite, which is why I had some respect for this perfume, but my nose cannot confirm that. Moreover, one of the reasons I could bathe in it is that it doesn’t overwhelm me, but remains gentle despite all these characteristics. It is very young and has an absolutely addictive drydown that gives the whole sweetness something alluring. I can imagine that the musk thread running through the entire pyramid is partly responsible for that. This drydown in the overall scent reminds me of that base scent from Yves Rocher that used to exist at least in the past. I don’t know how it is now. Even more so, it reminds me of a Christmas fragrance I once owned from there, or rather the DNA of it, which I adore passionately. Since this fragrance is so gentle and hardly lasts, I practically showered in it the whole time and emptied the 30-ml bottle today. I always wanted to feel more of it. I have often read about spherical scents, but only since I got to know this perfume do I understand what that means. It is there, very gently... and even when it is very close to me, I can’t quite grasp it, this underlying, hardly describable fragile floral heart that keeps slipping away from me and blends so perfectly with all the sweetness... Maybe it’s also the harmony with my skin that plays tricks on my perception. Next time, I definitely need a bigger bottle ;)

Katy Perry loves sugar and apple.

Sorry for those who love it, but first of all, it smells like alcohol, which is unbearable. But more about the scent in a moment,
when I heard that Katy Perry has a new fragrance, I was very excited because the advertisement appealed to me a lot. So I went to the store and smelled it, but unfortunately, I couldn't get a good impression because there were so many people, and I need peace when sniffing. Then I just bought the set with the 15ml and shower gel. At home, I smelled it again and thought, wow, it smells so much like alcohol. I let it sit for a bit, and then it became very sweet, almost like sugar.

The scent, as I said, first smells very much like alcohol, then over time it becomes very, very warm and sweet, like sugar. Then I smell the apple, and that was a great scent for me; it was a bit fruity, but then the strong sugar scent comes back and ruins everything. I couldn't recognize the other notes at all, which is very unfortunate.

I don't find the bottle super great because Katy Perry's other bottles were much better, like those of Killer Queen or Pure Meow; those were beautiful bottles, but not this one. And the 15ml size looks really tiny; you think it will be empty by tomorrow.

You can buy it at dm, Müller, Douglas, Rossmann, and online.

The sizes are 15ml and 30ml; unfortunately, I don't know if there is a 50ml or 100ml.

Overall, I would say that I would only repurchase it if I catch it on sale; otherwise, no, because the scent is too sweet. My grandma really likes the scent, but she says anyway that she likes my fragrances :-D What do you think of the scent? Would you repurchase it, or do you also find it too sweet like I do? But still, I use it when I go out with friends, nothing more.
