An oud without oud, but good as well
To begin to say that the great fault of this perfume is its name and its packing. The first thing you see is a black bottle with golden finials and the inscription "Midnight Oud", your mind assimilates the information and you think; Wow! A fragrance of oud intense, nocturnal, opulent ... uff I drool ... but when you try it, all those ideas that you have preconceived, they vanish suddenly and you take the disappointment of the century, and not because it is a bad perfume, but because there is a stretch between what it is and what you thought it was, hence you can read on the Internet some negative comments about this perfume, which, in reality, are nothing but the projection of the disappointment to expect something different, and not a real valuation of the product itself.
It is an almost linear aroma, it is not complex in its development and it has nothing to do with the oud, it is more, it gives me the impression that, if it includes it, it has to be in minimum quantities. In general I have the impression of a leather (not declared) very eighties with that touch of barbershop typical of the time, very soapy, but with a spicy and fruity touch very current, the truth is that I liked it. The start is intense, very rough and spicy, bubbly, effervescent, feeling a mixture of leather and wood very homogeneous, almost indecipherable and fresh, but not fresh in the sense of citrus or aquatic, no, it is fresh as it can be a morning wet with dew on a mossy forest. Then, it settles in intensity and thus it remains most of its long life, accentuating in the drying a small sweet fruity leave, but of ephemeral and slight form, on a very affable leather, that, in my opinion, gives it an air Very current.
There have been moments that reminded me of "One Man Show Gold Edition", they do not smell the same, but it is true that if you know "One Man Show Gold Edition" you can have an idea of ??how it smells in general.
This performance is very subjective, I have read everything, even people who say that it lasts a sigh, I do not deny that it is true, but in my experience, not even joke. I applied it to me at 8:00 in the morning, two sprays on each side of the neck and a spray on the back of each wrist. I stopped smelling myself in about 3 hours, but others could perceive it when they approached me, I know because I received some comment about it. I arrived home around 10pm and thinking that I was not going to find anything, I smelled my wrists, and, to my amazement, there was the smell perfectly reachable 14 hours later. To summarize and in general lines I will say that its optimal duration could be about 10 hours, with a moderate high projection at the beginning, to go down quickly to moderate to dry.
It is a perfume of cold and temperate times, and equally usable both day and night. It could be the perfect candidate for a perfume of daily or office, its aroma is not invasive or annoying, it is pleasant and durable, and projects a formal and clean image, perfect for a full working day.
On his recommendation I would say that it is not a perfume for everyone, it is a mature, serious and formal aroma, which I would recommend to try before buying, but as I see it difficult, for the price it has, nothing is lost either.
Sorry for my bad english.
