Fruit Compote Five Seconds from Fermenting
Humiecki & Graef MULTIPLE ROUGE is a rather gunky fruity concoction. I was wondering whether my sample had evaporated and that was why it seemed so thick, but having now read other people's reviews, it seems that this is what MULTIPLE ROUGE really smells like.

I would describe the scent as that of several kinds of fruits chopped up and forgotten about in a vat. They seem as though they are about five seconds from fermenting. The smell is not that of alcohol, but of very, very, ripe--even overripe--fruit. It's a different sort of smell than that of the bottom of jam jar because the fruits have been undergoing decomposition and there is no sugar present.

I'm not much for thick fruit compote perfumes to begin with, so it's not that surprising that MULTIPLE ROUGE is not for me.

nature morte
Multiple Rouge starts like a successful balancing act between functional perfumery - that is, the sector dealing with the design of household and cleaning product scents - and 'haute' perfumery of the cosmetics industry. Imagine, right from the outset, a 'fruity, berry-like' abrasive cleaner that has been infused with the finest fragrance materials, making it as effective as it is delicate.

Multiple Rouge, which could very well be called Multiple Jaune as noted below, seemingly effortlessly combines ingredients that are usually kept well apart: central to me is a blend of immortelle and something anise-like, ozone-like, as exemplified by the IFF fragrance Floralozone, with a fruity/berry component that is hard to pinpoint: raspberry, red apples, etc. Especially the unusual immortelle/ozone+ combination could be a key to Multiple Rouge - over time - especially on the skin, the immortelle aspect becomes stronger and develops surprisingly naturally, a mix of immortelle absolute and the scent of dried, crushed helichrysum leaves - all of this unsweetened and the fruity/berry aspect is strong enough to remind one of the intensities that characterize the fragrance at the beginning. On fabric and paper, all the characters of the scent remain well-preserved for a long time, but on the skin, a development occurs that leads to the immortelle. Wonderful.

Multiple Jaune
When a German company presents itself exclusively in English, I find that suspicious, I admit. Do they not want to sell their products in their own country or do they believe they cannot present such a website in their own language??? Whatever the reason, it is unsettling, especially the inadequate information about where to buy the fragrances (only an email address).

A dear member of parfumo sent me this sample, and I hesitated for a long time to engage with it, just like with the other H&G samples I received from parfumo members. In any case, thank you all for that.

Last night, I finally decided to try Multiple Rouge as the first of the three H&G samples and I must say, the attempt was successful, although the name should rather be Multiple Jaune, meaning multiple yellow, and not red. The fruits and flowers are definitely yellow, sunny yellow.

A balsamic-fruity cloud envelops me upon application and indulges me with a beautiful, light, floral, creamy, fruity, green scent. I enjoy it and lift my wrist directly to my nose... only to quickly remove it again.

Because directly on the skin, there is an extremely unpleasant note, somewhat metallic and stuffy.

However, the sillage, which is enormous with this fragrance, carries this wonderful scent into the room. Naturally, I wanted to know what could produce such a beautiful fragrance.

I cannot detect any orange, neither natural nor frozen, no pineapple, certainly not unripe, because unripe pineapple smells distinctly sour-green, but I can perceive fruits. Not overripe fruits on the verge of rotting, but ripe and fresh fruits.
These fruits are accompanied by chamomile flowers and an almond note - which is likely caused by the immortelle and peach kernels. Immortelle is a Mediterranean medicinal plant; customers of L'Occitane should know this, as they sell an entire skincare line based on immortelle. The plant has a balsamic, woody, warm scent; it is anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, etc., but also calming. Another component is the slightly green-fresh note from coriander. However, there is no trace of cinnamon.
I cannot make anything of the scent description ozone. I used to regularly visit a beautician, and she prepared the skin for cleansing in ozone steam. It smelled like nothing, just warm and humid. However, Multiple Rouge does not smell like that at all.
On the contrary, it is a very fresh and bright, sweet fruity-floral scent that spreads here in the room.

Unfortunately, the unpleasant note directly on the skin lingers quite a long time. It takes hours for it to gradually disappear and to give way to this gentle, beautiful scent that is distributed by the sillage, even directly on the skin. I am still not sure whether I should love or hate Multiple Rouge. Because the note directly on the skin is very unpleasant and makes me feel nauseous, but the scent that is spread by the sillage....... hmmmmmmm

I have never experienced such a, yes it is hard for me to really name it, but such a buoyant, bright, sweet-light, fruity-floral, feminine, and pleasant scent in any other "perfume."

Ozone Alarm !!!
I can't say much about it, at first it smells deliciously of cinnamon, pineapple, etc., and then the unpleasant ozone notes come in for me, making me almost want to scrub it off. The worst part is that whenever there are ozone notes present, they simply overpower everything on my skin, which is better for my wallet since I don't like it.

Very special and successfully quirky. Unripe fruity, cinnamon-spicy, contrasting, with a hint of immortelle.

Unassuming little plants with scratchy leaves and bright pineapple-yellow flowers on hot rocks create a Mediterranean-vegetative vibe.

Scorching sun,
stuffy air -
where cinnamon
& pineapple harshly intersect.
A green-toxic note taints
everything & I shut down.

When you multiply red with red, you get some strange stuff with berries and cinnamon. No idea what that's about.

Lotta (7 yrs) is grumpy (in the truest sense of the word). She cuts the rhubarb with a metallic blade, looking sour. Flower crown in her hair.

The green-soapy coriander (authentically crafted) dominates this scent from the start. Over time, cinnamon, violet, and a fleeting orange emerge.

Like once at the Fireplace: This review is unjustified! Great scent of fruit, dusty warmth, immortelle, and a hint of metal.

Cinnamon and coriander dominate, with pineapple noticeable at first. Later it becomes straw-like and bitter. A special blend, but it somehow works.
