Domesticated Version of Penhaligon's Classic
If you're looking for an office-friendly scent that conjures up fields of blue flowers and blustery spring days, Wild Bluebell is a safe choice. It won't make you sniff your wrist in ecstasy, but it is quite pleasant and it's unlikely to offend anyone.

If you compare the note pyramids, Wild Bluebell shares some DNA with Penhaligon's iconic Bluebell: clove, rose, lily of the valley, etc. Where they part company is at the galbanum, which lends an icy green touch to Penhaligon's version, and the rather aggressive hyacinth which is Penhaligon's choice to represent the scentless bluebell flower. In contrast, the Jo Malone uses the much softer bellflower to stand in for bluebell in their compostion.

Penhaligon's version is distinctively lovely and unforgettable to its fans, but detractors find it synthetic and harsh. No one will think Wild Bluebell is hideous, but I'm betting that few, if any, people will embrace it as their signature fragrance. I have both, because as much as I love my Penhaligon's in that lovely Victorian bottle, the Jo Malone is much easier to wear and allows me to have that dose of spring dressed in blue any time I like. As with most Jo Malones, sillage is a bit wimpy and longevity is fair to middling.

Jo Malone - Wild Bluebell - Initial Thoguhts
This one is another leap for me as someone who is more accustomed to male blue frags growing up, definitely on the floral side of unisex, but that is not to down this fragrance. I am already liking it a lot. There are some disappointments in the fragrance, but the roundness of the scent is good.

"Creator of the perfume is Christine Nagel who presented a new version of bluebell, composed of various notes, including green fresh notes, flowers (lily of the valley, rose hip) and spicy chord of cloves. Bluebell is a wild forest flower and its scent provides a moist echo of summer forest."

The initial bluebell and green notes shine through in the beginning, but only lasted a short 15-20 minutes. While that might be expected in top notes, I wish that it lasted a bit longer. However, as it led into the middle notes, the 'freshness' and smells of a garden in the perfume became greater, perhaps persimmon? Middles notes are now focused and I can get lily of the valley, but jasmine is one of the strongest scents that comes through for me. The middle notes don't feel as 'garden-ey', but more of a fresh linens smell when combined. I quite like it actually. It's cool to get two different feels out of a fragrance so quickly after application. The musk is really clean and definitely white. More plant like, but not as strong as some other white musk fragrances I have tried, it's more powdery.

I think the biggest disappointments in the fragrance is the fact that it isn't getting as good of projection/longevity as I would like out of a one like this. I feel like Jo Malone fragrances are know for being short and sweet (I could be wrong), but I think I get about ~4 hours out of this one, compared to 12+ out of a Tom Ford or others? I just wish there was a little more longevity to it.

Overall I rate this fragrance a 7.4/10.

Delicate and Pretty
This is a beautiful white floral scent. It is soft, delicate, and pretty to put into 3 words. Inoffensive and soft. It is a true floral fragrance, no fruitiness, no muskiness, or deep base notes that I can detect. It is a floral scent done right. However, it has no lasting power. It disappears within an hour of spraying.

From Flower Field to Floral Soap
I stumbled upon this perfume while looking for something that smelled like the Pattern hair gel and this was a good match. At the beginning... The opening on Wild Bluebell is beautiful. It's a very youthful, fresh floral, not at all stuffy or synthetic. As it develops though it becomes more and more aquatic-soapy the way I found a lot of Jo Malone fragrances go. As it ages on my skin it doesn't turn particularly bad, but it's definitely nothing to write home about.

Aquatic watermelon and floral soapiness
If the fragrance had a better scent bubble (projection), I would've probably gone for a full bottle. This is just a very beautiful, aquatic, fresh scent. I do have to say that despite the pyramid of notes, I only smelled watermelon. A little bit synthetic, but overall a very beautiful, green, fruity watermelon scent with the flesh, rind and everything. I imagine wearing this during sweltering heat. Drydown is light, fresh and clean. Musk is very pretty and feminine as there's a floral soapiness that remains at the end. Has decent longevity on my skin but abyssmal projection. It's a very fragile and evanescent fragrance.

A stunner among the more well-knowned Jo Malone's and I would've probably gone for a full bottle if it wasn't for the fact I have to smash my nose on my skin each time I want to smell it (and I did overspray myself). It was a very nice surprise from Jo Malone. I do suggest you test it out and see for yourself if you're in search for a fruity, floral, soapy light fragrance for the summer.

Airy floral, warm, soft. Smells good. Very feminine. Light musk. Reminds me of nice malls in the 2000's. Work appropriate. Client facing.

Wonderfully fresh and clean scent that reminds me of cucumber. However, longevity is abysmal, making it not worth buying.

Beautiful aquatic watermelon scent even though it's not listed anywhere. Dries down soapy and clean. Such a fragile and evanescent perfume.

Smells like a body mist. Sweet but a little young and artificial, but in a fresh and clean way I guess.
