Iltis in Cleopatra's Milk Bath
Thanks to a travel package, I too have had the pleasure of testing three fragrances from the brand Le Cherche Midi. At this point, I would like to thank FranFan for this opportunity.
The other two fragrances did not really impress me; I found them rather nice but nothing special.
However, the 28 left a lasting impression, albeit not a particularly positive one.
The pyramid already suggests that this is a more experimental scent, and components like milk or gunpowder further hint that it might be synthetic.
28 opens the olfactory journey with a strangely animalistic condensed milk accord. Even on the second test, I imagine a weasel in Cleopatra's milk bath, and I avoid sniffing the sprayed area for a while.
The strange condensed milk accord remains dominant and is then enriched over time with a musty, powdery component that somewhat softens the animalistic aspect, but not enough to make the scent more pleasant.
With the base, soapy incense comes through, giving the fragrance another twist, though not really for the better.
The mixture of soapy incense, traces of condensed milk, and leathery animalistic undertones is still unusual, but for my olfactory sensibility, it remains not truly wearable.
I couldn't identify pear and gunpowder, or did their mixture ultimately create the strange animalistic note? Who can say.
28 is not an everyday scent, and although I do not like it, I do not regret having tested it. Rather, once again, thanks to Parfumo, my olfactory experience horizon has been expanded.
