You get what you pay for...nice tobacco scent, but absolutely synthetic/chemical and without longevity
Since I've been focusing on coffee scents in the past few weeks, I almost inevitably stumbled upon Les Perles Afghan during my search. It was a blind buy based on the comments here and elsewhere, as well as the low price. And since I needed various other things anyway, I ordered Afghan (and also Tabac & Vanille) along with it.
Now, as I read the other comments, I wonder if we are talking about the same perfume?! I find it very linear and dominated by tobacco; yes, also a bit woody. It is a pleasant, warm tobacco scent, but absolutely synthetic/chemical. Coffee? Oud? Hashish? That seems to have been lost in my version. As a child, I sometimes received empty wooden cigar boxes from an acquaintance of my father's as gifts. This scent reminds me exactly of that!
The longevity is very weak (for an EDP!), which surprises me a bit given such a synthetic scent. Often, these types have a sillage that knocks you off your feet. After three hours, I can only perceive the scent if I am directly sniffing it. I tried again this morning, you know, giving it a second chance, and after a good four hours, it is actually no longer present. And I had sprayed quite generously.
In some description for the scent, someone highlighted the cheap aluminum can as a special feature, claiming it protects the precious contents from light and decay. LOL! You can see again that with a bit of imagination, you can positively describe even the cheapest stuff! The can was probably an overproduction from some cheap deodorant or otherwise obtained cheaply. I wonder why the big brands don't also fill their scents in aluminum cans if it protects so well? Or is this scent so bad that it turns to dust like a vampire at the first ray of sunlight?
As you can see, the "flacon" has occupied me more than the content. Maybe because there is simply nothing special to say about it???
I still have the Tabac & Vanille Tabac from Les Perles. The longevity is a bit better there, but it smells like cheap cappuccino vanilla powder to mix.
I actually don't like either of the two scents on me. But as a scent spray for the floor mats in the car, the Tabac & Vanille is okay. And I will "forget" the Afghan in the changing room during my next swimming pool visit...
My conclusion: If you are looking for something inexpensive in this fragrance direction, buy the Hash Intense from LPDO. Affordable but not cheap!
