Art and Kitsch
I love cute, colorful animal figurines.
Anyone who knows my perfume photos is aware of this.
For some, this may be kitsch - for me, it is art.
I also adore the Koons Poodle, and I wear it in a highly miniature form on my necklace.
A valuable porcelain deer head, adorned with LED lights, decorates the wall - and it polarizes opinions.
A green, cute little snail also watches over the front door, smiling a welcome to guests.
But this funny little guy had to endure an attack on his person yesterday.
Upon returning home, he was covered in shards, as an art-ignorant individual had smashed a beer bottle on him.
He had withstood the brutal assault, but such reckless behavior makes me sad.
Can't one accept another's taste?
Or at least respect their belongings?
The friendly figurine does no harm to anyone.
And so is the scent.
Fresh and friendly - and in a pleasant way, harmless.
It smiles at me and wants to be loved.
