In the fog
A charge of emotions, that's what the advertising for this fragrance promises the experience after application.
Lightning strikes the bottle, misty forests shudder.

Mitos, also from the House of Napoleon, what forebodings are probably waiting for the daring in the rather shabby bulk bottle from Italy.

In the midst of truly indissoluble fog banks in the cold autumn, I dedicate a few lines to one of my favorite directions after a long break.

Pour and clap!

The structure is immediately recognizable, no unnecessary digression.
Aromatic chypre dresses the animalic wolf.

Tart citrus fruits flash up, swirl up dry rose geranium and carve petitgrain into the wound.

Instantly, the soapy oakmoss from the base soothes, nurtures and dampens the excitement.

And there it is.

The wolf.

The wolf man.

The lone fighter in the fog.

Cumin, castoreum and civet, all three balanced and mature.
Elegant, warm, self-confident.
Rarely does such a blend envelop you in a smooth, experienced rather than brute way.
Animalistic without a doubt, but wonderfully dignified according to the old Italian art of fragrancing.

The use of juniper is reminiscent of great aftershaves. And here classically supported by rose geranium and bright petitgrain.

Atmospherically, the wolf strides through misty forests.
Grassy, earthy patchouli in the style of the 1970s obscures the view, the woods appear leathery with the cuddly cistus rose.
Black contours in dark green.

With the help of the acidic vetiver, the petitgrain flashes spectrally as it progresses, as if from afar.
The fog could not be more subtly interpreted.

The texture of the ambergris is slightly salty. What a relief compared to today's laboratory cacophony!

And the tonka bean acts as a glaze for the woods, making their leather shine.
No unnecessary sweetness to be felt.

This chypre remains classically true to itself, skilfully outlasting fast-moving fashions.
Its time period could easily begin in the 1960s in this style. Today, daring new brands are continuing this tradition.
It soothes and delights.

And so the wolf walks in the mist.
No deceptions, chimeras or false promises lead him astray.
The loud is alien to him, even unwise.
His animalism is not a deterrent, on the contrary. It depicts the trusting, not entirely harmless, but is worth the risk.

Ouch

More of a sweeter 80s scent, close to the powerhouse style, but with green and spicy accents that balance the fragrance: complex-aromatic.

I bought it in a small Italian perfumery for a little money. It was really worth it. Strong old-school scent!
