Weak beauty…
Extremely beautiful incensy, honey and little animalic/leathery scent profile. It’s easy to wear and unique in the same time.
BUT… longevity on my skin is about 2 hours and sillage is very, very poor (based on two samples which I got) So unfortunately despite it is very nice composition it is not a candidate for a bottle :(

An old abandoned cathedral
in gothic France. Majestic and dark, it stands in a clearing, surrounded by the dark forest. The elders tell scary stories to their grandchildren and warn against going to the cathedral at night. Even though it has been abandoned for decades, the wind occasionally carries screams, songs, and incense into the village.
One can only guess that exorcisms still take place there.

So much for the first impression.
When should I wear it?
For “Imperial Oud” combines a mystical, dark aura with a strong presence. With its deep, resinous, and smoky notes, it transports you to a world full of ancient rites and secrets. The essence of oud, complemented by animalic and woody nuances, creates an almost ritualistic atmosphere - like the burning of incense in an old cathedral. The dark, earthy character mixed with spicy elements reminds one of a space where centuries-old ceremonies took place. The mystical weight of the fragrance conveys the seriousness often associated with rituals, secret societies, and demonic symbols.

Over time, “Imperial Oud” develops on the skin, revealing subtle, balsamic, and warm notes that act like a whispering echo of the original intensity. The exorcism has succeeded. Calm returns. To the room. To the spirit of the once-possessed soul.
The equally threatening and fascinating story is now told.
Until the next night, when the wind carries songs and incense into the village…

Where cold rain falls on smoldering, blackened tree stumps
After testing several attars from the house of MAM, I would like to come to a conclusion about Imperial Oud for now.

Imperial Oud can definitely be categorized as an intense and characterful fragrance, where the motto is - the name is the program. The oud here is not a mild addition that merely acts as a supporting role. No, it appears on stage as a radiant protagonist, making all the supporting characters look pale and colorless. With strong woody and leathery nuances, it does veer into a somewhat animalistic and stable direction, but without reminding one of dung. Leather, nagarmotha, woods, and incense obediently line up behind the main note, further emphasizing its character.

Due to its intensely woody and smoky character, a certain image repeatedly forms before my eyes.

It is raining. Cold and relentless, the thick drops patter down on the still hot earth. Where they strike, in some places, the sharp hissing of evaporating water can be heard. The smell of the smoldering and blackened stumps blends in a curiously harmonious way with the scent of fresh rain and damp earth. On the surface, the charred crust of the wood has already cooled, but inside, the residual warmth of the past fire still slumbers.

As mentioned at the beginning, Imperial Oud is very characterful and can initially be quite overwhelming. However, if you give it time, there is a chance to learn to appreciate this wonderful oud blend.

Woodsy-earthy, very rich resinous scent with smoky notes of leather. Dark and deep core-woody agarwood, very enticing!
