Nag champa surprise!
Pretty blend of honeyed rose, osmanthus and musk with unexpected nag champa qualities. Frankincense not being able to create that aspect by itself, I wonder what else may have been added to give it this. Dry down brings it closer to a laundry white musk, still retaining some of the rest of it’s elements. Being a nag champa connoisseur I quite enjoy it, but not being one for strong white musks, it doesn’t quite make my favorite list. The rose also stands out just a bit too much for me.

Sillage moderate, longevity high. For 3g for around $20, not a bad deal at all.

Bravo, good sir!

Good Mood Musk
After I have now delved into Maison Anthony Marmin's flagship musk "Musk Aswad | Maison Anthony Marmin / Abdul Karim Al Faransi" and was blown away by the composition, I would like to turn my attention to Musk Bushi Sensei today.

In terms of color and viscosity, I couldn't notice any differences at first glance. Only upon closer inspection in a sufficiently bright light did some differences become visible. Musk Bushi Sensei is a tad lighter and more fluid than its cousin Musk Aswad. This led me to assume it would be a rather lighter representative - I was quite mistaken.

The powerful yet gentle spectacle opens with musk and oriental incense, also known as Bakhoor. Intense, balsamic, clarifying, ethereal - the same could be heard with Musk Aswad. The musk comes, typical for the house, very clean, powdery, and soapy, and harmonizes wonderfully with the balsamic incense. Close on its heels, after a few moments, Osmanthus joins in, ushering in another stage of the symbiosis. Fruity-floral, its leaves envelop the musk and incense, giving the fragrance a sense of lightness and an idea of tea - good mood tea. The third stage of the symbiosis presents itself with the gentle appearance of honey and vanilla. Warm, light honey flows thickly over the leaves of the Osmanthus and carries high-quality split vanilla pods on its surface. Occasionally, individual leaves of wild roses flash through the rich honey streams. And so it remains until the fragrance is no longer perceivable on the skin after what feels like an eternity.

Parallels to Musk Aswad are definitely recognizable here. However, the good-mood-tea vibe consisting of Osmanthus and light honey presents itself as a clear unique selling point. Anyone who already knows Musk Aswad should definitely give this a try.

Strong Nag Champa incense scent. More Indian than Japanese to me. Transportive.

Delicate wild rose smoke. Typical Faransi honey. Sweet and floral, but with gentle animalistic smoky notes, absolutely unisex. Classy scent.

A cheerful spectacle of soft osmanthus and powerful musk. Brilliant. Honey, rose, and incense complete it perfectly.
