Soft, animalic leather with fresh green tea

This was a love at first sniff for me! It’s so light and invigorating, like a fresh cup of tea in the morning. It’s light, dry, and completely lacking in sweetness - all qualities that I find very compatible with my skin. I’m not sure what elemi resin smells like, but I don’t detect anything either resinous or citrussy in this fragrance. On my skin, I get green tea right away and the leather develops almost immediately after spraying, with the fragrance remains quite linear from there. In the drydown, up close I can smell an offputting sort of oakmoss, but at a distance this is not noticeable and instead you get that soft leather and tea. The leather is smooth and warm, reminiscent of actual animal hide rather than leather products or shoe polish.
This is not a strong fragrance, but it’s tenacious - I could still smell it on my skin after a shower (and that was after scrubbing my arms mind you!)
During the day, I keep thinking I can’t smell it, but when I move around enough to warm up my skin, it makes the fragrance bloom. For me, it’s the perfect amount of sillage and I think it’s especially appropriate for hot weather, given how fresh it is and how it blossoms in the heat.
I feel like this fragrance is very “me” and I think I’ll be buying a full bottle. It seems a little pricey for the sillage, so I wouldn’t recommend buying this if you’re into beastmode fragrances. I recommend it if you like dry, light and fresh fragrances, and especially if you love tea!

Update: I rescind my judgment of this as too expensive for its performance; in the summer heat it's quite a powerhouse actually. Pretty good value.

Hidden gem

This is quit nice! Soft leather vibe all day long. If you like D&G velvet tender oud & desert oud..Cuir Tassili is in between. Also similarities with Louis Vuitton’s Ombre Nomade but more softer (not the same depth). This might be my worst revieuw because i compare with others but Cuir Tassili is a nice hidden gem! There are a lot of Cuir fragrances but this one deserves more attention !

Soft realistic leather interpretation

Soft but very realistic leather, presented in a very delicate way. Aromatic, green and quite fresh at the opening, with a light animalic touch. I love the delicious note of the tea leaf that transforms the fresh opening into something darker and deeper together with patchouli and myrrh. There's also a powdery aura created by the orris concrete. Usually leather perfumes tend to be much heavier, but everything is in a delicate harmony in Cuir Tassili. As if there was a veil floating in the air... A nice close to skin fragrance with an average longevity which I'm sure I'll use a lot during these upcoming spring days.

This perfume was created by Aléanor Massenet to pay a tribute to the origins of Mohamed Rebatchi. She was inspired by the awakening in the Tassili desert, the territory of the Touaregs in the south east of Algeria. There's an aroma of tea mixed with the scent of fresh lemonade floating around the tents in the morning. And the leather saddles on the camels...

Off to the Desert!

Hello you perfume lovers out there! Since this is my very first review, I ask for your understanding if I don't cover all the points that might be important to you perfume enthusiasts. I promise to improve… - well, maybe :D.

Hmm… as I look outside, it’s very cloudy and the clouds have a slight reddish tint. It must be due to the Saharan dust from the desert, as the weather forecasters say. The desert, oh yes, heat and drought… not really my thing, but to each their own.

But back to Cuir Tassili. According to Alienor Massenet, the fragrance is supposed to tell the story of the Algerian desert, namely Tassili. The Grande Dame of the Rebatchi house had complete freedom in developing the scent. It transitions from a very refreshing opening to a heart with a tea accord and then to a leathery base with a hint of patchouli.
For me, the fragrance starts off green and fresh. Inevitably, I think of spring and summer. Yes, it’s not a leather club that hits you over the head, as is the case with many other leather bombs. It is much more refined in its entirety and remains so throughout the entire fragrance journey, without tearing down houses or noses. I would describe the color of the leather as light rather than dark and powerful. It can definitely be worn in spring or on warmer days. The leather note is present from the start, but not too dominant. The green (tea) and fresh citrus notes play around it and give it a wonderful breadth, which makes this fragrance, in my opinion, extremely versatile. I can also very well imagine wearing it in the office, as it does not come off as provocative. Rather, it’s a flatterer that, while distinct, is still pleasing. The projection is not overwhelming, but that wouldn’t do it justice either. It is just right, and you can perceive it a step away for the first 2 hours (at least on my skin). After that, it becomes quieter and more intimate. The longevity is very good for this fresh leather scent, lasting about 6-8 hours before it runs out of steam. So it’s just right for a workday.

The box in which the bottle comes is round and black. It reminds me a bit of the Acqua di Parma boxes from the Signatures of the Sun Collection. Beautiful!! Nestled inside is the bottle, which somewhat resembles old leaded glass windows or wooden shingles. In the center, the artist’s name, as well as the name and concentration of the fragrance, are indicated.

Conclusion: A wonderful, fresh leather fragrance that may be unisex, but in my opinion leans more towards the masculine side. A nose-pleaser that stands out without knocking anyone over. A lovely scent for all light leather fragrance lovers :D. So if the Tassili desert smelled like this, it would probably be my spa resort!! We’d just have to talk about the heat again!!
