(My) Little Treasure..
Something is different.
I don't know what it is, but I've been noticing it for some time.
My aversion to certain fragrance notes has softened. I even have to admit that I'm slowly crawling out of my Easy Peasy fragrance comfort zone and genuinely feeling great joy with rose and (oh!) oud scents.

This one makes it particularly easy for me.
And I was actually surprised when I read some statements that were mostly rather semi to poorly received.

In my opinion, Amber Intense is quite a charmer. It starts lightly citrusy, but ambers buttery soft. A delicate rose joins in, and everything becomes a single Golden Hour, honey-sweet - I am completely devoted.

My moment of surrender continues. Again and again, when I smell it at that spot, it becomes pleasantly warm, and I feel a great sense of well-being.
For me, there is such a thing as therapeutic scents. Just one fragrance alone makes me feel better - or simply good.
And it doesn't lack endurance and radiance.
You don't need many words about the bottle. For me, it's very tasteful and successful.

Amber Intense has lovingly sneaked into my heart through a decant, and now the time of weighing options begins again.
Should I...?

The Test
I would like to test a comment here. Or perhaps rather the reactions to it.

Of course, I have also tested the fragrance. To be honest, I feel overwhelmed trying to write a truly nuanced comment about it. So many notes, phew, how am I supposed to pick them all out or convey an impression to the reader? I do not possess such an analytical sense of smell. Since there are some noses here that are excellently capable of doing this and can also translate it into comments, I would like to offer to send my sample to someone who can. So I want to test if someone here reads this who can ;).

Since there are no comments or statements about the fragrance yet, I thought I would at least write down my impressions. I cannot manage to put this into a statement. So, a comment attempt, a test, I can always delete it again.

Moreover, I thought it was a good time to publish something just before the comment storm that will probably hit us all starting the day after tomorrow when the contest begins. We Parfumos will probably have to dress warmly. And will anyone even read this then?

Finally, about the fragrance, it starts off very woody for me; I can definitely smell the oud. Or at least I can imagine it, since it is already at the top of the name, so the woodiness is probably oud. Now, finally, let’s turn off the (self-)irony; yes, it is very intense oud, no barn smell, but intensely woody and somewhat dry yet also soft for my nose. Does the dryness come from the pepper? Cumin? Probably it’s the combination. So, I would be happy if someone took over this analysis. For the first 2-3 hours, it stays that way, and I classify the fragrance as rather masculine. After that, it becomes more complex; a strongly balsamic, sweet note comes in. Balsamic-sweet sounds like the fragrance would suit me better from this point on; it then also leans more towards a unisex direction, but I prefer the woody initial phase. I suspect the black currant, which I don’t love that much; it smells a bit like balsamic from deep black currants, mixed with slightly candied amber, aged in an oud barrel. A Reserva, of course. I borrowed the amber part from the title of the fragrance. The “candied” is my own interpretation; that’s how I perceive the slight sweetness, but amber? I must say, I don’t find the fragrance particularly amber-like. Well, styrax, labdanum, and co. give a golden-warm amber-like note; it also becomes a bit fruity, so I am almost tempted to think it involves the listed tangerine and orange, but they are actually in the top notes, hmm…

So the fragrance remains like this for several hours, marked-woody oud intertwines with the balsamic-sweet-black currant amber note and occasionally pushes itself to the forefront. I perceive slight fluctuations in the weighting of the notes over time, but not in the actual fragrance. I have been wearing the fragrance for 10 hours now, and I can still perceive it well, although it has become closer to the skin. Overall, its sillage is quite subtle, which I like.

As I said, I want to publish the comment before the contest starts, so I am posting it now. I suspect the longevity will be gigantic, my skin will still smell of it tomorrow.

Now I am curious if and how quickly someone will come forward who wants to write a real analysis of this fine little substance and help me expand my horizons. I am looking forward to it :)!
P.S. Addendum on December 18.
Since heated discussions about the contest have now broken out, I would like to reiterate that my comments regarding this were meant with a little wink, and I simply hoped to find more readers beforehand and possibly a willing tester for the fragrance. I think it’s quite good if the fun of the contest motivates diverse comments, as long as they tell something about the fragrances and are written with joy and diligence.

Royal Amber fragrance that lingers its nuances in golden shade. Warm spicy, rich resins, opulent musk. Great performance and longevity.

Sweet-jammy rose open followed by bubblegum floral tones. Orange note clearer as it dries, also goes more powdery, but where's the amber?

Liquid gold with animalistic undertones and candied citrus fruits at the start.
Later rose & wood notes, fruit, and a balsamic finish.

The citrus notes somehow don't match with the spicy-woody ones. Musk is too dominant.
I don't like it.
It's a matter of taste..

Gentle, artificial animal notes accompany
the sweet, pleasing rose.
More musk than amber
but with snooze potential.
For the price?

Dessert-sweet amber scent with resinous accents, fruity notes, and subtle floral tones: personally a bit too flattering for me, but exciting!

Spicy-orange opening, transitions into a rosy-resinous heart note, with musk and Peru balsam taking over in the base. There are better options...

Spicy-sweet, extremely potent, and rather masculine amber scent, nicely rounded off by a resinous note. Quite nice, but €695?!

Resinous sweetness, subtle fruity notes, and a hint of sensuality from cumin. It has something, but the spark just doesn't ignite.
