Finally, a true creamy + gourmand lilac!
I've been obsessed with BBW's Pink Lilac & Vanilla candle, and haven't been able to find a comparable scent profile in perfume. Most options are too green/earthy, too floral, not creamy or gourmand-enough, or too hard to find an affordable, non-spoiled vintage bottle (looking at you, Crème Bouquet ).
I stumbled on this perfume accidentally. I didn't know Maurice's made fragrance, and I had low expectations - but seeing the notes of lilac + sweet cream, I had to try.
Truthfully, the opening was a little rough - there was something a bit rubbery/synthetic, but thankfully this dissipated after waiting a while. Normally I'll pass on a fragrance with a bad opening - but this is worth the exception!
Dry down was a simple blend of sweet lilac (30% of the fragrance), made fluffy and soft with the gourmand sweet cream (70% of the fragrance). I got almost no freesia, fortunately - as that could have detracted from the star notes. I was just enveloped in a cozy, creamy, gourmand-lilac blanket - exactly what I was looking for!
It's a softer scent profile, so projection is lower but I personally didn't mind; it's the type of scent profile I'd use for home or bedtime anyway. Longevity was surprisingly potent for something less than $20 on sale (I could still smell it even after showering/scrubbing several hours later).
So happy to have found something that smells so similar to BBW's Pink Lilac & Vanilla candle, and affordable on top of it all!
Side note: I wish the bottle or juice were a light/pale purple, because the amber/golden color throws me off based on how the scent actually smells.
