Insider tip

An absolute insider tip. I'm now on my third bottle and have known the fragrance since it was released in 2018. It used to be my everyday companion, now it's something special, but I still love it!

In my opinion, Fleur de Mûrier is a feminine and uncomplicated fragrance with character. It is never intrusive or overwhelming, but simply pleasant and present. For me, it is a 12/10 in the price-performance ratio.

The fragrance is berry, floral and slightly woody. The berry note predominates and creates a surprising elegance.

Unfortunately, this fragrance is totally underrated here, which is a shame. For the sake of interest, I showed the fragrance to a few people with an affinity for scents, who were immediately impressed and impressed by the price.

Definitely deserves more attention.

This is what life experience smells like

When I was a teenager, I really wanted to be a fashion designer. I couldn't sew, but I studied a lot of design theory and worked on my portfolio every day. My role models were Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld. Vivienne because I thought she was cool and Karl because, just like me, he couldn't sew himself and only drew his designs. Of course, he also had an incredibly interesting personality. At some point I didn't want to be a fashion designer anymore. But I was still sad when Karl died.
This back story ultimately ensured that I got this perfume as a birthday present from my mother. She had tested several Lagerfeld fragrances and this had of all the best fit to me.

When I smell this fragrance, however, I see a very different woman than myself. I have a woman in her forties or older in mind. A woman with life experience who doesn't need a strong fragrance to come across as strong, because she is so at rest within herself that it doesn't matter how she might come across. And not in an arrogant way, but in a very endearing way.
I'm in my mid-twenties myself, but if I want to feel or appear to others exactly like this woman, I love wearing this fragrance.

On opening, the perfume smells fruity and spicy. The spicy note smells like pepper to me, but there is none listed. The fruity comes mainly from the currant and I've read that currant can probably smell a bit like cat, so maybe it's also responsible for the spiciness?
The fruity fades quite quickly and in the spiciness mixes a soft, sweet-berry smell, certainly the blackberry blossom. For a while it is still very slightly tart, but in a pleasant way. Eventually, only a lovely scent remains. The berry note is still slightly perceptible, but neither strongly fruity nor particularly sweet. It blends with the creamy, powdery scent of delicate violet and restrained sandalwood. Everything sounds soft and cozy.
Fleur de Murier is a very gentle fragrance. I don't think you can overdose it. On my skin I can perceive him about five hours.

Many have classified the fragrance here as a summer and spring scent, to me it actually smells more like fall and winter. He is a cozy family afternoon, coffee with the girlfriend or colleague.
You can do very little wrong with it, because it is a light accent, but not a loud statement.

Expectations too high

I found the camp field as a person simply megacool. His storytellers are legendary and I always liked how sober and unexplained he saw the fashion industry. That he didn't try to interpret something deep into it where there's nothing. Karl Lagerfeld was a giant talent, but his entertainment value was just as great. And that station wagon must have brought him this incredible success. Rightly so.

I've got to send this out in advance because you're not supposed to say anything bad about dead people. Unfortunately, I can't think of such praise for the fragrance.

I like Lagerfeld Classic and also Sun Moon Stars but with the newer fragrances I have some troubles. Maybe it's simply because I already have certain qualitative expectations about the name Lagerfeld, which are simply not fulfilled here.

The bottom line is I have the same problem here as with Private Klub for Women. An annoying, cheap-looking note in the background. But first in turn...

Start head and heart note with me at the same time. Very discreet right from the start. It looks as if the fragrance is taking a run at first, but without really taking off. Not too sweet raspberry with slightly sour currant results in something like blackberry - at least in olfactory terms somehow. After a short time something diffuse and flowery is added with this disturbing note I mentioned before. If I now compare the fragrance pyramids of Fleurs de Murier and Private Klub, I see here and there that violets and musks are present. Can get there where I don't really smell the musk. I also have general problems with raspberries/blackberries in fragrances. For me, it's easy to get pushy or childish. And that's what's happening here. In combination with this other annoying smell, it just doesn't fit anymore. The bottom line is that the fragrance lacks any elegance which I associate with the name Lagerfeld. Even the sandal amber base doesn't make it any better. The scent does not calm down because this sour blackberry is still in between.

Too bad, this fragrance makes it hard for me from the fragrance notes and then also advertises with a großwn name, but it absolutely does not do justice to.

The Sillage is, as I said, only very close from the beginning. The stability is better than expected. Fleurs de Murier can last at least 4 hours

Remembering the " Fine Lord "

When Karl Lagerfeld used to be seen on TV, the little niece became quite awake, pointed excitedly to KL and found emphatically: The fine gentleman !

Hardly anyone was able to fulfill this attitude as perfectly and naturally as Karlchen.

I am also an admirer of his skills, his fashion, his fragrances - and his attitude.
That's why I'll miss him.

So today I thought it was a good day to get Murier.
And comfortingly, it's a welcome cheerful scent.
The berries are not bitter, but sweetish - and the powdery violet is not bitter either.
Amber is again sweet, musk gives a mild pink glow - and sandal nestles in confidence.

A positive scent, sympathetic and affordable.

Karl's credo: Everyone should be well dressed - and smell good.

A fine gentleman - a fine train.
