Breath of Earth
It has rained a lot in the last few days, so I sprayed Petrichor Plains, thematically appropriate. Our house and garden are situated on very clayey soil. Of course, there is a lot of good topsoil spread over it. But every time it rains, and especially afterwards, you can smell that special, mineral, ionic, crystalline texture in the air. Carried and washed away by the rain. It always mixes with the scent of grass and roots.
And that is exactly what Petrichor Plains does for and with me. It gives me the feeling of being very close to that purified, ionic, yet green and earthy, natural sensation. It is very calming and, unlike many other petrichor-centered fragrances, Josh avoids the concrete-asphalt-big city theme and focuses entirely on the breath of the earth. This healthy, lingering exhalation, after the rain has washed away all worries.
I think I understand the beautiful intention of Julia & Josh behind this olfactory memory. It is a new beginning and the scent of life.
The one that repeats with every rain shower.
As always.
Forever.
