Fruity cherry Poison from a can
Babe Power definitely took heavy inspiration from Dior's classic Hypnotic Poison EDT, but I wouldn't call it a real dupe. It has a very similar, bright and radiant vanilla note. The cherry in Babe Power also recalls HP's famous almond. Cherry and almond can be quite close to each other and they are in these two perfumes. But that's where it ends. HP has that bittersweet, rubbery undertone that is responsible for the "poisonous" vibe. Babe Power has none of that, instead it's sweeter and fruitier.
The first seconds feel a bit dissonant to me. It takes a minute for all the sour fruit notes to merge together with the sweeter base. I suspect the peony, which can be a bit sharp and cool, also plays a role in the disharmonic opening. But that only lasts for a very short while. The heart and drydown phases of the scent are sweet, fruity, vanillic goodness. A lot of juicy cherry, supported by subtle rhubarb and pineapple, floating on a smooth vanilla and musk base. The cotton candy note makes it extra cute and gourmand, but isn't too cloying or burnt here.
I wouldn't go out of my way to get this, but it's a nice budget choice. And even though the can isn't exactly beautiful, I think it's kind of fun. Better than the badly done glass bottles some other drugstore fragrances come in.
