From Hubba Bubba to Niche

The bottle is - as usual for the brand - a statement. It makes you think of children's bath foam or even a Pez dispenser in the case of my 10 ml travel bottle.
But what you see is only what you get in the first few minutes.
It doesn't start with Pez, but 1:1 with Hubba Bubba - chewing gum. It's really impressive, even if it doesn't look very classy. Sweet and juicy, you want to start chewing right away. The sweetness is very pleasant, not maltol sweetness, not burnt, not sticky, not sharp like dextrose and not like honey either, but simply normal sweetness, just like a Hubba Bubba.

But the childish fun soon fades and now some powder comes through, while both the sweetness and the bubblegum tuberose slowly recede. Something spicy and tart is added, but I can't make out exactly what it is behind the dust-dry powder for the rest of the fragrance.
Please bear in mind that I perceive some musky scents very strongly, so much so that they overpower other scents for me, perhaps that is also the case here. But it is precisely this musky powder that I like here. Perhaps others, for whom the musk is not so prominent, smell the notes behind it more strongly than I do.

Within twenty minutes, the fragrance has grown up, the bear bottle, the Pez dispenser, completely absurd and inappropriate.
This impression is reinforced as the fragrance progresses. The fragrance is still sweetish, still dusty-dry powdery, but now more tart-floral in the background. There is nothing sour and if I smell fruit, then only a very subtle hint of blueberry. There's nothing cute, we've gone from the candy stall at the fair to a strange macchia shimmering with heat far away from civilization, where surprisingly sweet and tart flowers exude their scent in the hot sun.

While Toy 2 Bubble Gum initially seemed like a trashy and yet somehow cool cheap fragrance for freaks, it now powders itself into the nose in such an interesting way that it could easily be classified as a niche perfume. The fact that it is quite artificial does not detract from this classification.
If you take away the bottle and imagine the fragrance in a different one, e.g. one from JHAG, Vilhelm Parfumerie, Gabriella Chieffo or Byredo - I'd be forgiven for thinking it was one.

Toy 2 Bubble Gum definitely lasts 6-8 hours on me, becoming more and more bitter, with the cedar becoming more and more prominent towards the end.

I hope the magic doesn't evaporate if, at this stage of the fragrance, you are asked what you are wearing and then told: Toy 2 Bubble Gum. At least then you'll probably have the laughs on your side.
