J'adore-esque
Neotantric DROPS OF ME reminded me immediately of Dior J'ADORE, except that it's richer and does not induce in me illness and malaise. Because DROPS OF ME is so similar to J'ADORE (minus the mystery ingredient which makes that perfume intolerable to me--though I do love the bottle!!!), it is also, by transitivity, similar to Fragonard BELLE DE NUIT. Since DROPS OF ME is so similar to J'ADORE and BELLE DE NUIT, it therefore follows that it bears similarities also to Bond no 9 ASTOR PLACE.
I am *not* alleging plagiarism on the part of any of the perfumers involved! No, I just find it remarkable that they all hit on essentially the same shimmering gold floral blend! My distinct impression is that freesia is linking them very strongly to one another, though that note is not even listed for some of the group. Perhaps "abstract" florals are producing a "freesia-effect" to my nose? Who knows?
In any case, DROPS OF ME is nice, but unnecessary, as I have large volumes of J'ADORE, ASTOR PLACE, and BELLE DE NUIT ready at hand! I definitely recommend this perfume to anyone who likes any of its close neighbors on the grand olfactory map. And even some of those who cannot wear J'ADORE may like this one as well, myself being a case in point.
