An iris to cuddle with

Prada´s Infusion d`Iris Eau de Parfum has been in my collection for several years. And that's still the version from 2007. Also here I bought as so often a bottle, which is almost empty, but I have already provided for replenishment.

Infusion d'Iris could inspire me right away. Such a soft, cuddly, gentle and harmonious fragrance, but still not a breeze, but a fragrance with a certain statement and presence. But what could he say? Today I am in a peaceful mood and want to cuddle, for example. So a fragrance well suited for relaxed weekends. But also well suited for working. It looks elegant and not intrusive. Or for going out for a meal/to go out also very well suitably. Infusion d´Iris (almost) always works...

Infusion d Ìris starts with galbanum, which is very soft and uncreasy here, followed by the first powder breeze of mandarin and orange blossom.
Then there are more powder clouds with a lot of soft iris. This iris remains dominant in the rest of the fragrance and I like that very much. Despite all the powderiness, the fragrance does not appear suffocating or dusty. I can't hear cedar and vetiver here.
Frankincense is discreetly restrained to match the fragrance and only serves as a very delicate background.

I also have the EdT, but for me it is an independent fragrance, which looks a bit "more humid" and does not have the powderiness like the EdP. Rather it resembles Chanel N°19 Poudre very much. And still has a better durability than the Chanel.
Also the other fragrances of the infusion series are not to be despised and some of them have already made it into my collection.
This one can certainly remain a permanent part of my collection.

Cool as Anna Wintour

First of all the following:
1. Prada may sound good if you throw in the name at the right place in a small talk or during a girls' round, but the clothes are mostly unwearable. Quite contrary to the Prada scents...
2. On such detours I have never landed at a fragrance - as with the present one.
3. The meanwhile already stately Gohonzon (shrine) of my Prada babies can be seen in my photo album.
Now to the real thing - the scent:
You don't have to be a devil to wear it (..and I have nothing in common with Mrs. Wintour, except a weakness for large sunglasses). It is more like heaven: Infusion (2007) is a freshly cooled powder dream. The mandarins and all the other green and fruity things that have been whisked together put a stop to the super powdery iris, the pistachio does another one and gives the fragrance a nutty colour. Frankincense keeps itself nobly in the background. The base becomes slightly soapy, but you could also let it pass as creamy. Somewhere in between. Definitely beautiful, and amazingly rich in content. Here you can get something for the money (not like in the Prada flagship store on the Kö), and it also stops.
How did it happen that I came across Infusion d' Iris so late; long after I had already loved, decapitated, consumed or discarded and even commented some other Pradas?
I wonder why My husband was once again the trigger. After he bought the men's infusion, I became friends with him. I had never been interested in the ladies' infusion, which was sometimes even available for peanuts at Schlecker (remember?)... so far. But because of my sympathy for the men's scent, I recently took a nose of it, and lo and behold: the DNA is very similar, but the women's scent is even more beautiful, because it is cooler, greener.

A light noble fragrance

For me, it is a very nice perfume for autumn and spring.
It is well perceivable, but only in a subtle way.
This infusion is powdery, but not dusty. The slight woodiness keeps the scent from being too feminine. He is not right for going out, but in everyday life a versatile companion, mostly suitable.
The galbanum note makes it seem fresh and not too sweet.
The iris is the heart of this subtle and great fragrance and it is powdery, but not too much. In no way is this fragrance too dry or spicy.
Slightly woody notes give it the final touch. Benzoin adds a bit of sweetness here. A pleasant drydown is slightly perceptible on the skin at the end. It's not a loud perfume, it's elegant but still wearable anywhere. A slightly powdery floral fragrance experience.

Prada Infusion d'Iris - my Signature Scent ( for now )

My dear ever-goer, mood-improver and world-pain-spreader - today I dedicate these lines to you, because you deserve it. I wear you often and with pleasure, already many years you are my own, I am in possession of a large 200 ml - vat and can fill as needed.
I also wear your name - and you make him all honor - for that I thank you.

If I think of you and your fragrance nuances, lightness and security fills me.
When the first buds and early bloomers show themselves, the anticipation of the warm and finally sunny season begins. I am so longing for spring, especially this year. We are in need of some joy and relaxation, and who knows what else awaits us in the time ahead.

Infusion d'Iris starts fresh and light with tangerine and orange blossom. Faintly aldehydig, with something abgespecktem vetiver. Then it comes, the powdery and significant scent of lily, all-encompassing and strong. It is joined by distant fine delicate woods. And flowers again. What a mixture. I don't smell incense. It is floral dance of the highest order, it immediately brings a smile to the face. Iris means rainbow and so dazzling is the scent. Floral, fresh, creamy powdery but never overbearing. Like a clear spring day.

Today is such a similar day. I'm sitting in my lawn chair with the sun tickling my face. Little snowdrops are peeking out everywhere, and the other early bloomers are showing themselves in manifold ways. A cheeky squirrel makes his way through the trees and bushes with some climbing skills and actually jumps perkily over my shoes. You little sweet cheeky, welcome!

My Garden of Eden. Infusion'd Iris is part of it.

I wrestled with myself for a long time to see if I liked you...

At that time I had tested you as the first of the "family", whereby your prelude was to bitingly pungent green... Also the incense in the base was too strongly present to me...

When I found out that there was another version in 2015, I tested it and was very excited... I had to have that!

...And so you fell into oblivion...

Then I was able to test Iris Absolue and was also immediately addicted to her.... and had to have them...

After a long time I wanted to give you another chance and find out for myself whether I felt the same then as I do today... Was the prelude really that biting? And the incense is actually that strong?

So I did the test and sprayed you left on the arm and the version 2015 right on the arm. You can clearly follow the scent of the 2007 version, which is not the case with the 2015 version.

The first thing I can really notice - as I did at the first test - is still something very biting, pungent and green... Pistachio leaf?

This bitterness loses itself after approx. 15 min and you get a little softer...
A powdery iris in a green bed appears with the heart note... a very tender iris, dominated by vertebrates...

Little by little, gentle clouds of smoke are still coming, which lie close around the green bedded iris....

The silage is also much stronger than in the 2015 version, which I really like... The durability is also a little better... Similar to Iris Absolue..

Generally I feel the version 2007 in the heart and in the base very similar to Iris Absolue (which I love soo very much)...

So my conclusion is that I don't like the version 2007 so much in the first 15 minutes, but heart and base convinced me and now the version 2007 could move in with me - so the circle closes for me ;-)

I could already test the EDT, but silage and durability have failed a bit and can't convince me...

So I can say with a clear conscience - all good things are 3 ;-D
