There's a real fire...
...and everything inside the hut is the same as.
This is how you could briefly describe my impression of the niche fragrance series Not Perfumes from Sweden, which was published a few months ago.
But that is not enough for a decent commentary. Neither the dear perfume nation nor I are satisfied with that. There has to be a little bit more It does...
First of all: No hymns of praise are being sung! On the contrary, this series has caused me great displeasure. Of course, I could spare myself a scent series that is rated quite highly (even if only a few have rated it so far). But I am also of the opinion that one should speak out openly and honestly if something does not please. And this is not the first time I do so.
Since I am a big Sweden lover and I like country and people very much, I also wanted to test this series. Although it was already clear to me where the fragrance journey should go.
But the curiosity was there and in silence I thought to myself, well maybe there could be a nice scent after all...
But now the whole series has failed me completely. The name Not Perfumes does not seem to me to be chosen casually, because in my humble nose these smells are not perfumes, but simply smells Now then, Vaan, the last non-perfume I tested.
The smell should therefore be resinous and spicy. Something resinous I perceive already somewhere, but the spicy seems to me rather burnt, bitter, dark and in a certain way rancid or maybe even already tilted.
I have the following scene in my mind's eye:
One sits comfortably together, deep in the gloomy forest, in a wooden hut, on the wood fire bubbling in a huge pot an indefinable meal made of all kinds of ingredients found by chance. There is meat marinated with a whole bunch of wildly composed spices, which has also been lying around for a few days, so it's not quite fresh anymore. But it does not bother, one simply throws a whole heap of dried herbs and flower remains to it, so that the rancid aroma is properly whitewashed. By the way, there is also a rest of vanilla lying around that can be used as well. The hungry mouths will taste it somehow. Then murmur the whole thing on a strong flame. It's been on the fire for quite a long time, because nobody really has an eye on it. It bubbles, it smokes a lot, it hisses and smells quite penetrating. Suddenly there is a loud bang. The content of the pot is boiled over, the hot fat is spread over the flames and poof, the hut is on fire.
But now life comes into the society, legs in the hand and who can save himself.
A courageous jump through windows and doors, the four-legged friends quickly saved, and then you can only watch how the hut blazing and smoking collapses and buries everything that was still in the hut underneath One stands helplessly before the smoking wreckage and wonders how this could have happened...
That's my association with the smell. I find the non-perföng very unpleasant, biting, burning and I absolutely do not want to smell like that. Such smells do not please me unfortunately at all, I feel uncomfortable with the burnt, charred and rancid smell mixture Unfortunately, the stuff also still holds like Hulle and eats itself very deeply into the skin. Strange that always the unpleasant things last so long and can be removed badly again.
I am basically sorry that I have to nag against the very praiseworthy comments and statements here and that I am very hard on Vaan. But I think that every opinion counts, even if it's an opposite one I also know absolutely no opportunity, to which Vaan would fit in my opinion.
By the way, I tested all 5 non-parföngs on the skin despite the note "Fobidden to use on skin" to get a reasonable impression. A handkerchief or a piece of paper would not have given me satisfactory results.
And what can I say, I got through it without blisters, pustules and itching.
I'm just wondering why they want to ban its application to the skin. Haven't they tested for skin compatibility sufficiently?
Now I am quickly handed a luxuriant fragrant spring flower bouquet, because otherwise I will still become vain because of this very obscure smell composition ;-)
