Rêve d'Ossian is like a stone with a heartbeat!

I'm not exactly sure what I mean by this but Rêve d'Ossian feels like sucking on a smooth pebble that was candied in burnt sugar. It is distinctly cold, but gives the impression that it was once imbued with heat or flame and has been left out to cool. I wore this on a recent trip of Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris, and it felt so appropriate. Stone graves feel more emotionally distant the older they are, their anonymity becomes more distinct as generations pass, but the inherent sentimentality of the gravesite remains-- a glimmer of sweetness defined by the function of the grave as a place of grieving, celebration, and familial preservation. A church is a cold place imbued with physical or metaphorical warmth, where worship, ceremony, etc. ignites the frigid, upright atmosphere just as much as the aroma of scorched resins or burning candles. Here, all of our attention can be brought to the sensorial encounter between the austere and the sublimely felt.
