Another Paco

Paco Rabanne's perfumes are known for being top note catchers. As most people know, this is the name given to those perfume bottles that are attractively presented in attractive flacons and are supposed to elicit a delighted "wow" from the tester when first sprayed. This "wow" should ensure that the tester becomes a buyer within a short time. And that without ever having smelled the heart note of the perfume.

A good example is Pure XS, which smells wonderfully like popcorn and ylang-ylang on opening, but after about an hour smells like an indefinable mixture. Not that that's incredibly bad, but for me there needs to be more.

Similarly with the classic Olympea, after the first spray, one perceives benevolently (or not, depending on taste), the salty vanilla note, which gives Olympea quite recognizable. Only happens here unfortunately the same, after 3 hours I smell only vanilla mixture.

It seems to have gone probably many so, because with Olympea Intense this "problem" no longer occurs. Granted, the salt vanilla is not as beautifully pronounced here as in the original, but - it is there! And it's there from the beginning to the end. And that time span is easily 10 hours for me. That's right, that's how long this scent lasts on me! Longer than some niche fragrances.

I like the powdery vanilla, slightly salty scent so much that I wear the perfume significantly more often than I had actually planned. Thanks to Graumarkt, I received the beautiful first bottle from 2017, with the rose gold trim and the brown stone look in the lid.

For me, by far the best Paco Rabanne fragrance, where more is present than just a great top note
