Aoud N°1 Parfümerie Brückner 2011

Aoud 1 opens with an almost candy apple accord that is definitely sweet, but not over-the-top sweet. It then moves to the heart notes, displaying a slightly watery dark chocolate-like plum and oud combo. The oud remains through the base notes, combining with a very nice sandalwood note to finish things off while staying sweet throughout. Longevity is above average, but projection is below average.

I feel like I have smelled something similar to Aoud 1 before, and I am pretty sure it is another of Micallef's fine concoctions at that (and she has many). With that said, I like Aoud 1 a lot indeed. It is not really my kind of scent as it leans toward the sweet gourmand side of things, but the composition is sound, the notes work well together and most importantly it smells good. For sweet scent lovers that also enjoy Oud I can easily recommend Aoud 1, and everyone else in general should also get a whiff of this 4 out of 5 star winner if they can, as it is excellent.

When you stand in the most famous perfume shop in Munich and (actually) just want to treat yourself to a perfume as a souvenir and a sort of Munich fragrance, you naturally pay attention to exclusivity and would prefer something that is only available there. It is all the more convenient when scents have been created specifically for this shop that can only be found there and that are also pleasant to smell. Such is the case with Parfumerie Brückner's Aoud 1, which, unfortunately, has not yet received any comments here. This needs to change quickly, especially since there has been a significant hype and buzz from overseas about this fragrance on YouTube. Even if it was probably praised a bit too highly there and this exotic from Germany likely carries a rarity bonus, the scent is impressive.

A beautiful, light fruit-oud - exactly on trend, casual & delicious and simply delightful. It ranks among the best 99 fragrances I have had the pleasure of sniffing in my life. I had expected much stronger and heavier tobacco, which I knew Aoud 1 was, but it didn't immediately come to mind when it was time to test it, as I am still on the lookout for summery gems. While Aoud 1 is not summery, it is also not wintry. It is a very light-hearted oud interpretation that could even be conceivable on summer nights. It starts off powdery-fruity with apple and pineapple, but already has a slightly dark and oudy tint. Delicious, gourmand vanilla-oud that doesn't smell bad, annoy, or weigh you down at all. It rather reminds me of some baking sessions with grandma. The remaining components like saffron, orange blossom, or jasmine can be detected and are great, but they are merely decoration. Everything revolves quite linearly around fruits, oud, and vanilla. A perfect pairing of mass appeal and a more special oud. This should definitely receive more attention here in the forum; it is a high-quality going-out and at the same time gentlemen's oud!

Bottle: the old dark one was indeed more beautiful, but the new one is handy and looks good!
Longevity: a somewhat modest 7 hours.
Sillage: here too, by no means a powerhouse, rather a caresser! Perhaps even too quiet...
