Smooth and light citrus woody ambery sui generis fragrance
I'm not really sure what to say about Parfumerie Naturelle SUNSET OVER SANTORINI. I have to confess that if this were a mainstream designer launch, I'd give it a "meh" and move on. However, I am compelled to try harder with this all-natural creation by Raphael Haury, a sample of which I picked up from Parfums Raffy about two years ago along with a sample of the other perfume from this house (they have a grand total of two), ARARAT.

These perfumes and this house were for some reason listed at no other fragrance community website. That was two years ago. We have now added them here, but I have no idea why this house has remained so obscure--beyond the obvious explanation that they have made no effort whatsoever on the marketing front. Coincidentally, the perfumer got a big plug today from Chandler Burr, who revealed that S01E04 was YUZU ROUGE, created by Haury for the house of whatever the zipcode of Grasse is...

SUNSET OVER SANTORINI smells smooth and creamy with a very light scent of amber overlaid with citrus and woods. It has the same sort of designer floriental feel as many mainstream launches with wood and vanilla--except that this composition smells natural, contains tonka, and is much less sweet than those perfumes.

It's not quite ambery enough to qualify as an amber perfume, and it's not quite woody enough to qualify as a woody perfume, and the light (not sharp) citrus departs after the opening, so in the end this feels a bit like a skin scent. This perfume is worth testing by people who eschew ostentation and prefer their fragrance to be subtle and close to the skin.
