The Absinthe
Like the century
Are soon gone
In bitter myrrh medicine
Frankincense remained over bright parquet
From fashionable ballrooms

As you said, I really like the mugwort/myrrh mix here as well.

Here I have to think of Versailles and the "Sun King." But I bet it didn't smell that good there! :-))

I hear the floorboards creaking while the ladies in the courtyard are dusting off the dance powder.

Sounds like a medicinal scent. I love that kind of thing.

Your words transport me to another era. Can the fragrance do the same?

Indeed, the green fairy has delighted both of us. :)

For me, this sounds really good (including the bitterness and the calmer finish)!

Too bad when the absinthe runs low. I would have stayed for a glass ;-)

It had something that made me feel nauseous. No idea where that came from.

Are we talking about the same cough syrup? That one was tasty... But frankincense isn't for me.

A bit more absinthe would be nice, but it still sounds very appealing...

Finally, a Belle Époque where not much happens at the end... I bet the historical figure would have wished for that too. 🫣

You write great! Children's cough syrup doesn't sound bad at all. Unfortunately, mugwort always makes me think of someone who consistently smoked it as a tobacco substitute, even indoors.

Thanks to Medianus76. Absolutely beautiful at the start, in the tension between anise, mugwort, and bitter myrrh, it faintly and only in nuances reminds me of children's cough syrup. As it moves to the base, it becomes a bit too smooth for me, as only bright, clean incense and light wood remain. Still, a lovely everyday scent.

I imagined it even better - great perfumers, and licorice... But it doesn't sound completely convincing. Great picture though.
