Smell Me!
Avant l'Amour is probably one of the darkest Chypres I know so far. One of the darkest kind and species. A Chypre that could undoubtedly be labeled as "sharp." Demanding, highly erotic, possessive, and ruthlessly direct. Nothing is said indirectly here. Clear statements are made and taken. What pleases is taken. Here, now, and immediately! Avant l'Amour is a perfume for the night of nights, for the erotic hunt for physicality, and for the insatiable hunger of lust. A perfume with an almost shameless directness and cold-blooded, beautiful dominance!
Avant l'Amour
For those who think I'm exaggerating up to this point. No, I'm not! I am a great lover of such scents. And whoever designed Avant l'Amour was a dark genius and left nothing out that numbs and paralyzes the senses. Or as I like to say. The devil sat in the corner and learned when this perfume was created! Here, maximum doses of essences were used, and nothing was spared. Wastefulness in perfection! Once the oily perfume is on the skin, which is almost like an attar, it comes like a loud scream. All notes seem to want to conquer you at once. The impact is overwhelming. The most striking is the main accord. A dark, deep-dark, and earthy-woody patchouli that is gradually interwoven with other paralyzing notes. An oily-heavy tuberose merges with its narcotic floral quality. Powdery nuances from orris root and iris cloud the senses and flutter in like dusty moths, bringing softness. Delicate threads of resinous green myrrh flicker through the perfume and gently envelop a timid fruity note of peach like a snake. Rough, smoky, and still true oak moss seems to grow on the skin like a weave. Wild, bitter, rich, smoky green, and primal! A very large civet sneaks through and around the thighs and ultimately kisses you almost with a wet bite on the neck. Avant l'Amour ultimately ends in a warm-creamy musk base that is no less animalistic and rests on an earthy, warm-green bed of dark, sultry moss. Sounds good? Oh yes, it is!
Conclusion
I only know two other perfumes that exude such a strong and sexual aura as Avant l'Amour. Tuxedo by Ralph Lauren and 7ᵉ Sens by Sonia Rykiel. These two are similarly designed. Avant l'Amour is powerful. Tiny doses are enough, and you are literally stigmatized. The scent seems to sink into the skin and appears to bite into it. It lasts an eternity, and the sillage is hard to avoid and break through. Avant l'Amour is not a perfume for the faint-hearted and weak personalities. It is heavy, consuming, dominant, captivating, and makes very clear advances. A very stable backbone is more than appropriate here. Otherwise, you will be devoured! The design language of the bottle strongly reminds me of H.R. Giger and his art in its biomechanical and dark-erotic style. One may think what one wants about it, but one thing must be said. The bottle contains what it promises and embodies.
Darkest, consuming eroticism!
