Luna - the one, forever

I would like to take you in this review on the journey of how Luna went from "not my prey scheme" to my much loved signature scent.

My real fragrance journey started a year ago and has been intense ever since. My scents have always been fruity, sweet, gourmand. With fresh, citrusy or floral I could do absolutely nothing. Still pretty much at the beginning of the trip, I discovered a "Discovery Set" from "Penhaligon's". "I don't know what this is supposed to be, but it looks so pretty! Let's test it out!" The first time I tested it, I didn't like a single scent. Ne, what's that? They are all somehow brand aftershave?...

Fast forward: 3 months. All Escada fragrances are moved out, only a "gourmand" (and it can be argued) is in my collection. What happened? I had the feeling to have made a huge scent change within 3 months. Several niche fragrances were tested and I was still searching for "the one". In real life, I was in the middle of the last phase of my studies - my Thesis. And I was stuck. I needed inspiration and remembered the Discovery set in the closet, the one that looked so pretty! I unwrapped it and intuitively reached for Luna and sprayed. And smelled. And smelled. And smelled again. And was enchanted. Suddenly it was the most beautiful thing I've ever smelled!

I perceived:
Gentle bergamot, which does not sting toilet stone-like, but gently gives a freshness of itself. Rose, which is elegantly draped next to the juniper berry, which gives the whole a certain "effervescence" รก la gin and tonic (but in dry and not so doll as in Juniper Sling ) and then for me the star of the fragrance - fir balsam. It gives the fragrance a natural base, something that just grounds you.
Luna for me is pure elegance that is quite down to earth. An understatement that lets you simply dream.

I was in love. I immediately organized a larger bottling of the fragrance and wore it every day while I finished my milestone degree.
After I finished, I traveled to my partner in England. There I had the chance to sniff all the fragrances at Penhaligon's and not only I was in love with Luna, he was too. So without further ado he grabbed the last bottle on the shelf and bought it. "Here, for making your milestone. Be proud of yourself."

And I am proud of myself, and I am glad I discovered Luna.
When someone asks me "What fragrance could you wear every day without it annoying you?" or "What fragrance have you received the most compliments on?" the Luna Eau de Toilette is my beloved signature scent, my beloved understatement, and my faithful companion.

(We have both become huge Penhaligon's fans, by the way, as you can see from my collection)
