Samba Nova Femme Perfumer's Workshop 1992

After presenting the Samba this morning, I now follow with the Samba Nova Femme. The scent didn't particularly blow me away, but I also don't find it as bad as it has been rated here on Parfumo. However, the longevity is not impressive. After 2-3 hours, it becomes very close to the skin, and after 5 hours, the fragrance fades away. Accordingly, the sillage is also quite weak.

The top note starts off green and reminds me of fruit caramels with the taste of green apples. In the heart note, the fruitiness becomes a bit indefinable until it is replaced by floral hints. Here I detect violet, iris, jasmine flowers, tuberose, lily of the valley, as well as rose water. I perceive the base as soapy and still floral. Unfortunately, I can't identify much more here. Perhaps there's a hint of balsam and sandalwood - but if so, very subtle.

The opening reminded me of a youthful "teen fragrance," but as it developed, it became quite "ladylike." The nearly full miniature is welcome to move on if anyone is interested.

EDIT 02.06.2024: I have now come across another miniature and found the scent to be somewhat better and sweeter. Additionally, the longevity was significantly improved at around 8 hours.

EDIT 03.02.2025: I found another miniature to be much more harmonious, so I have adjusted my rating upwards.

Once again, a fragrance without any comment, and once again, I can't understand it.
It's certainly not the best fragrance out there (at least for me), but better than some others that have received more attention.
Be that as it may:
Unfortunately, the scent is not what I expected or hoped for, without really knowing what that was exactly.
It has a "typical perfume scent" for me, which tends to be somewhat negative, but that rarely means that other people don't like this fragrance. :)

I perceive the top note as floral-powdery-perfumey (unfortunately not green!), the powdery aspect increases, and for a while, I distinctly smell the lily of the valley.
After that, I didn't smell it again for some time, probably because I often don't like lily of the valley in perfumes and still found it quite "perfumey."
However, the base is very pleasing and pleasant. Extremely subtle, but beautiful. Probably sandalwood and amber, but not too sweet; that's due to the civet (which I unfortunately don't know).

In conclusion:
Not a very experimental fragrance, but since there are many similar perfumes, apparently one that some ladies like.
Not really for me, but I also don't want to run away from it, which means something for me.. ;)
