Unusual
Now I'm looking at a bottling of Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette. I have to admit that this bottling must be older, otherwise I can't explain this dark, extracted color. The top note is also very contrary to the fragrance pyramid, but at least the rest still seems to be intact. I am not really happy with this fragrance. However, the longevity is strong at over 12 hours and the sillage is okay so far.
The top note is probably already gone. It smells indefinably fruity-sweet but also tart-earthy with hints of patchouli and oakmoss. The heart note smells greenish, earthy and floral of lily of the valley, orris root, violet leaves, freesia and rosewood. The base, on the other hand, smells very pleasant, sweet and ambery with notes of bourbon vanilla, musk and woodruff.
When I compare my review with the opinions of others, one thing quickly becomes clear: I have to try it again and then hopefully with a "fresher" sample.
