Timeless elegance or just "dumb reach"? I Both not bad if you just want to smell clean!

L'Homme | Prada" is a fragrance that - if you want to rate it extremely highly - you would describe as timelessly elegant; as a "dumb reach" for moments when you simply don't know what to reach for and want to play it safe (office, job interviews, etc.). Sometimes it's also just good for relieving the nose a little and distancing yourself from strong, nuanced fragrances (e.g. strong rose, oud fragrances, etc.).

However, this does not mean that the fragrance is boring in and of itself, but rather that it has a really wide range of applications in a "clean" environment. But now to L'Homme in detail:

- Even though the fragrance is linear, I find it slightly fresher at the beginning, which is probably due to the subtle vetiver opening.

- However, the main protagonist - iris - comes into play very quickly and unfolds with the violet. The iris lends the fragrance a creamy and powdery texture, while the violet exudes a truly subtle florality and adds an elegant depth that envelops the fragrance.

- In the drydown, the warm and elegant woods create a certain masculine strength that is very much in tune with the iris and simply exudes a pleasant aura.

- The H/S is in the good mid-range and the fragrance is therefore ideal for formal occasions or, as mentioned above, for everyday use as a clean fragrance.

Overall, a great, easy-to-understand fragrance that you can wear for practically any occasion without overwhelming your surroundings. Even though the fragrance has a large fan base and its success speaks for itself, L'Homme has unfortunately not made it into my collection because I simply expect a little more rough edges from a fragrance in my collection.
