Minimalism in Pure Culture
I became aware of this line when I was looking for a subtle room fragrance for work that differs from the classic sauna scents, (I work in a spa with a large wellness area)
I ended up with the Amber, and I was not disappointed. The feedback from guests who already considered this scent as something new, very pleasant, subtle but always present confirmed me. The more curious I became about the scents themselves.
In my collection, the Santale Absolu made its way.
There isn’t much to say about this scent and its development. Sandalwood, PERIOD. Exactly what it says on the label is also what’s inside.
But how this sandalwood unfolds is worth a few words. The manufacturer provides a warning. The scent should be applied in advance, as it needs time to develop. And that’s how it is, and I recommend practicing it this way. Once applied, I was surrounded by a musty note. Like rotting damp wood, that’s how I associated the first images in my head, but then, after 10 minutes, the sandalwood came into its own wonderfully.
I can only describe it with these words: pure - soft - velvety - balsamic - woody - sensual and clean. Nothing scratchy or piercing or rough... and that for about 22€! And no trace of the initial scent cloud...
It doesn’t always have to be a complex, multi-layered scent development that unfolds over several hours.
Simplicity is, for me, on some days, the new luxury, and I gladly indulge in it.
Provence et Nature advertises the purity of the natural products they use, and that is the great plus of this brand, as it is not just an empty promise; you can smell it.
The longevity is remarkably good at 6 hours, considering it is a natural product. The sillage is just how I like it, not overwhelming but there...
I find this scent quite compatible with women. I would really be interested in how it smells on a woman and how it is perceived.
P.S.: The Marine has also been ordered today; after all, it’s Christmas ;-)
