Interesting Facts
Orignially released in 1900, Treffpunkt 8 Uhr was reinvented after the brand J.F. Schwarzlose Berlin had been revived.
In 2014 a limited edition of 88 bottles was released for the 88th anniversary of the scent, called "Opening Edition". The top and heart note of this variant are supposed to smell as in the original scent formula.

Fits the picture
I typically enjoy perfume as an experience, not just the scent itself but the full package, ranging from the packaging and presentation, the actual scent obviously, and the story and inspiration behind its creation. And that is where this perfume - for me - stands out. I like the idea of a perfume that recalls the excitement and anticipation of a first date, and presents the development of associatEd feelings. And that is exactly what I get with the perfume. In an olfactory way it starts with the preparation and the gradual increase of the excitement (I guess the mango is at play here), as a build up to the pièce-de-résistance: the moment where you meet the object of your anticipation and probably desire. And then the date unfolds and grows until the time where it will remain a lingering memory of that evening of excitement and togetherness.

So from my side: highly recommended and big thumbs up. I so do love some of the perfumes Schwarzlose make...

Note: I bought the “collector’s item” version of this one, with 100 ml contained by a crystal bottle. It is nice, but not too different from the “normal” presentation from my perspective. Maybe the brand could amp up the special editions a notch or two to make them stand out more. That said, and I realize I am going against the flow a bit with the following comment: I actually do like the bottle and general presentation by Schwarzlose. For me, they fit the picture - just as much as Treffpunkt 8 Uhr inspired me to envision the story behind it.

Enjoy the journey, may it lead to many nice memories for you all! ????????

WTF, Schwarzlose?! I came for leather - and then stayed until 8 o'clock!
I was actually on a little leather trip - and of course there was no way around leather 6 from Schwarzlose Berlin. And then leather 6.9 drops - what can you do? So we diligently tested back and forth. And if you've already got half the range on your skin anyway, you might as well give Treffpunkt 8 o'clock a fair chance.

First impression? I had already sniffed it at the Parfumo meeting in Cologne - a very dear perfumer had it with her and I had saved it under "like it". The sensory overload on that day was quite great, so it remained a fleeting impression. But now it's been topped up - with my own bottling and extensive testing.

And what can I say? Treffpunkt 8 Uhr is spicy without biting. The vetiver gives it a slightly(!) masculine edge. Ginger and a hint of mango provide a fruity, almost juicy note - but without being too synthetic. No sticky sweetness, no girly fuss. This is grown-up, but not stuffy. Cool, but not deliberate. A fragrance that sits just as well on a white T-shirt as it does under a leather coat.

Slight old-school vibes? Yes. But modern (does that make sense?!). Fresh? That too. Addictive? Definitely.
Not a 08/15 fruit cocktail
Rather: Berlin at dawn, after a night of partying, somewhere between a view of the Spree and a good espresso.

Meeting point 8 o'clock may move in. And with an announcement.

But even if you laugh, I'm still attached to Berlin today
My late father was from Berlin. Born in the middle of the darkest period of the last century, he had to live through the Second World War as a child. A few years later, when he was just old enough, he left Berlin, ended up in another big city several hundred kilometers away and made a life for himself there. He rarely saw Berlin again and so it didn't play a major role in my life either. Nevertheless, I have always felt a special connection to our exciting capital city and so I tested out the fragrances from Schwarzlose Berlin, mainly because of the brand name.

In addition to the authentic, lime-floral 1A-33 (2012) and the wicked Rausch, I was particularly taken with Treffpunkt 8 Uhr: unsweet, green, slightly fruity. Modern with a touch of nostalgia.
I see my father as a very young man in front of me, riding his bike through a balmy summer evening full of anticipation. He has dressed up and set off extra early so as not to be late for his appointment. The wind is warm, the evening sun conjures up reflections of light on the asphalt. The air smells of summer, of freedom, of light-heartedness; a light-heartedness that I would have wished for my father, but which the war took away from him and which he was unfortunately able to allow far too rarely later in life. for me, Treffpunkt 8 Uhr oscillates between lightness and melancholy, because despite its freshness, it is not an overly cheerful fragrance for me, even if the ginger and mango in the top note do allow a little joie de vivre to shine through. The fragrance is fresh, tart, slightly spicy and the vetiver in it is wonderfully light and bright. It is generally a light fragrance, pleasant, not too strong. And yet melancholic, a bright melancholy that makes you look back at the past and yet always draws you back to the present.

My father and I didn't always have it easy together. You could hardly tell from the outside that he could have been my grandfather in terms of age, and yet there was sometimes too much time between us. But apart from all the strictness and stubbornness that sometimes made life difficult for me, he was also a man of pleasure, and so I am sure that I could have infected him with my enthusiasm for perfume. Perhaps we would have tested our way through the various fragrance samples together. And Treffpunkt 8 Uhr would certainly have appealed to him as much as it did to me.

Where to meet? Meeting point here.
Meeting point 8 o'clock. A strange name, what is 8 o'clock? And who is meeting where anyway?

My story with the fragrance:
Personally, I had my first meeting with this fragrance 2 years ago when I wasn't really interested in perfumes at all. When I was working in retail, closer to Manufactum, we were given some samples of a new range. We stocked a few niche brands and so, alongside Casamorati or Roberto Ugolini, J.F. Schwarzlose now also had a place on the shelf. When the employees were able to take samples, I tried a few, but most of the fragrances didn't appeal to my designer-accustomed nose, too many went in a direction that said too much or too little.
But then I smelled the perfume with this strange name for the first time.
As a perfumery, J.F. Schwarzlose aims to bring vintage-style fragrances to the market in a new guise. The best-known fragrance is probably #Leder6.

The fragrance:
It did something to me.
A slight tingle on the nose, a balanced spiciness, paired with green spiciness and very light fruit and wood accords.

We meet at 8 o'clock on a summer morning in a meadowy clearing. Light rays of sunshine fall through the canopy onto the fresh mango already present.
A few minutes later, we notice that Ginger is already there too, but he keeps a low profile throughout the meeting as Mango's supporter, a backup in case something goes wrong at the meeting. Together, however, the mango and ginger come across as a perfectly combined fruity spiciness.
Now the sage arrives in the clearing, probably a few minutes later.
The light sage leaves are colored dark and spicy by the shadows, but this does not take away any of the freshness.
As befits a first meeting, there is a slight, pleasant tingle in the air. The wood and green surround the clearing in professional depth.

It's a good meeting, the green and yellow chords stay in the clearing for 6 to 7 hours and don't really change, which isn't necessary given the good mood of everyone involved.

It is a wonderfully balanced, green and spicy perfume that is rounded off by its not overly sweet mango and, at least for me, was addictive at first sniff.

A good daily that doesn't want to be an attention magnet due to its normal silage and durability.

Great fragrance from a great perfumery in Berlin, you should also support something like this instead of buying the hundredth fragrance from a designer company because you know that if you like 1, you will also like 1.1.

Thank you for your attention, even if perhaps only a few of you make it to this page. This was my first review and I really enjoyed it.

Forest fairy in fall
The fragrance smells green, spicy and woody.
Meeting Point 8 o'clock starts with a strong, spicy, pungent ginger. The mango is green, fresh and fruity and complements the ginger perfectly. Sage then makes its presence felt, as does autumn crocus. All in all, a fragrance that is coherent in itself but by no means meaningless. It has rough edges and is reminiscent of nature in the fall. You can't describe it, but it smells of spices and fruits hanging on the trees, of colorful leaves, of a hut in the middle of a deep forest, of the fairy in the Wizard of Oz.

An aromatic spicy and green, rather gentle earthy-woody Spring fragrance, balanced by an uplifting spicy-fruity opening. More masculine.
