Heroïque Rancé 1795 2015

Heroïque presents itself with a citrus-fruity opening, where the bergamot stands out particularly. Pineapple and apple are only faintly perceptible to my nose and fade away quite quickly. However, the fresh citrus note of the bergamot remains throughout the course of the fragrance. Gradually, a light floral nuance unfolds, which is quickly replaced by a gentle, slightly oriental spiciness. In the drydown, woody and slightly sweet nuances emerge, while the bergamot continues to be present. Overall, the fragrance evolves from the initially citrus-fruity freshness to a citrus-woody character with subtle sweet notes. These add a certain heaviness to the fragrance and make it more versatile. It is unfortunate that the floral notes, which are briefly perceptible in the base, fade away quickly.

The longevity of the fragrance is not extraordinarily long, but I find the sillage to be quite strong. However, if I want to perceive the fragrance throughout the day, I need to reapply it from time to time.
